My Sister Graduated Today!
Today my sister graduated with her Psy.D. It's a doctorate of Psychology, so now she's Dr. Gonzalez. It's pretty cool. I wish I could have made it to the ceremony, but I couldn't afford the plane ticket to LA. My mom did get to go, and that was cool. My brother paid for her ticket. She was going to pay him back with money from her job, but then she quit to try and move out there to LA. Instead, she's going back to Jacksonville next week to try and get her stuff together to go. My mom has been trying to move back to LA for almost a year now, and is having trouble with it. I don't know a lot about the trouble, but I know it's partially since her mother in law is sick. She may want to leave her husband, but she loves her mother in law. I know, it's weird lol. Anyways, she's in LA for the graduation and party. I'm glad my mom was there to support her. My mom has been sketchy with supporting my sister. She forgets to call my sister on her birthday, stuff like that. But my mom is also proud now to have a doctor in the family. She kept on pressuring me to get my MD, even after my breakdown in college, but I told her I couldn't. She didn't like that.
I also made it to work today. I sat most of the day, and that went okay. My back was hurting, and my hips hurt, but I made time to walk around and stuff to get the pressure off my hips. On my way home it felt like I pinched something in my left hip twice, so I'm not going to go for my walk tomorrow. I may try and go to the pool, if I feel up to being around screaming kids. It's not going to be as bad as Sunday, since the office is open on Saturday so there's some sort of authority around. The only problem is that I would have to walk to the pool, and I had trouble walking today. I don't know yet. I have to see how I feel. I know the pool is going to be warm and feel great, though. I wish the spa was open, but the spa has been broken forever. I don't think that it's ever been working in the 3 years that we have been living here.
Wow... just thinking that we've been here for 3 years now. That's a long time for me to stay in one place. I moved around a lot as a kid, and even more in college. In college I was in a place for just a semester, so 6 months or less. I would keep my stuff in boxes since I knew that I wasn't going to be there for long. I like where we live. It's close to work, pretty quiet, and the people are nice. I just don't like that the pool in my complex is always closed. Oh well, I can't get everything I want. I want to live here for a while... at least a couple more years while I get my life back together with this whole disability thing. I don't want to be on disability forever. I want to be able to work and earn my own money instead of taking from the government.
Work today was good... Tiffany had Stephanie and I working for her, so she had a lot of help. Stephanie was doing the appointments, and I was doing all the entering on the computer. I like doing the computer stuff, it's better than being on hold for 10 minutes or more with some doctors. I am a social person, I like talking to people, but it's the being on hold and being bored that I don't like. It's not like I can do anything while waiting... I never know when the person is going to come back so I can't go somewhere and do something else, like call another doctor. We can't go online for long, since they are monitoring our internet use. Still, as long as I have the letters and stuff to do, I'm good. I did make one appointment today because I forgot I didn't have to for that client.
Mood today has been good.. I did get a tiny bit depressed for like 5 minutes, but it went away. I think going to work was a big help. I was tired... I slept okay last night, but it wasn't too deep of sleep. I kept waking up, dehydrated. I need to drink more water. Food today was good... I'm in my calorie range and I have room for a midnight snack if I need one. I weigh in officially tomorrow, so I'm hoping for a good number. I hope to at least have lost a pound and a half from last week, that would take me to 213.5 pounds. I've been eating right and exercising, so hopefully I can do that. Today I had cereal and coffee for breakfast; rice, broccoli and cheese for lunch; and homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner. I normally only make soup when I'm sick, but I just felt like soup tonight. I don't know why. Oh well, I cooked and that's what counts.
