My Self

i am open minded. i want to embrace extreme differences.
"Think about the parts of your identity you lost in high school- pick up the threads. Write about your identity & bring it in (even tentative topics)." ~homework from Cheryl, my therapist.
i was so sure of myself. i want to have that back again.
what did i lose? what did i label as wrong, or disgraceful?
*homosexuality (bible says it's wrong, it's a sin, homosexuals are choosing to sin against god, r shaming god)
*abortion (yea yea, bible stuff, abortion is murder, etc, etc)
*personal assertiveness (i couldn't speak up for myself, because i was always wrong)
*self-worth (i felt it was wrong to b self-aware, make my own decisions, have my own thoughts)
*i was so open and opionionated in high school, because i was so sure of what i felt and believed, and was interested in. i lost that in my marriage.
~~~
i believe i have the right to feel what i want to feel, believe what i want to believe, live the way i want to live. i have the obligation to live my life full of honesty and compassion, full of good character traits. open-minded, open-hearted. i must b true to myself, so that i may b of use to others around me.
a little wisdom from Winnie the Pooh "You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."
