My new cat Roxy (Moo Moo)
I got Roxy on Thursday. After 1 day we bonded and she is perfect. I am lucky to have had such beautiful cats. Roxy is from a farm and not vaccinated etc I got some worming tablets but they are so hard to crush and she didn't eat them. I will have to wait for full vet treatments but need to do the best I can for now. I am amazed by Roxy , she is eating so well and drinking her cat milk (and pooping lots lol ). She cleans herself and even grooms me and lays on top of me. I can't believe she is so young at least 2 months. I had her in the garden but it was scary in case I lost her. After the number of cats killed on the road I don't know if or how I can train her for outside. I've never been an indoor cat fan but would hate anything to happen to her. I have to do everything I can to protect Roxy

Oh this is wonderful, yes keep her as a totally inside cat. You can get her a tall cat condo where she can climb and look out the window. Just scoop the litter box daily and flush the poop in the toilet. Use plain litter as some are heavily chemically scented. Have two litter boxes also. It is manageable to do, just a routine thing. Change the litter once a week or every two weeks if you have two boxes, might or might not be needed every week (my cats yes every week I changed the litter). Use a kitchen sized plastic trash bag, put the litter box into the bag and allow the used litter to go into the trash bag, then take it out to your trash bin. They say don't use pine sol cleaner in the litter box so you can use a little cleaner to rinse it out. I used to do it outside when I had a hose and then when I didn't, I wiped with cleaner and paper towel.

I've also heard that kittens should not be wormed until taken to the vet to get the shots and get neutered or spayed so they don't make babies. Something about how deworming med can kill them. I am not an expert as I never needed to de-worm a cat. I used to have many cats and one was totally indoor but two went outside and like your cat was killed outside (bigger animal got him). Very sad, we feel such hurt and pain when they are killed outside.
Roxy is extremely cute! Keep her indoors. It's so much safer. No risk of pregnancy (possible at 4 months), parasites, fights, accidents etc.

for me, the hardest part of loving animals is that i outlive most of them. i still experience grieving for each and every animal i have lost in my 71 years of animal husbandry, even the ones i killed myself and invited to a postmortem dinner. maybe more so for those. they are literally part of me now.
my animal buddies are not interchangeable, but the eternal bonds are my natural connection.
but i don't love litter boxes.

Oh my god. She's so cute. You're very lucky. I wish I had my cat with me. He passed away a few months ago.
