My Miracle Pear
About 8 years ago, my neighbor gave me a potted pear tree so I took it home and planted it out back near my high bush blueberries and waited for fruit to grow. The second year, I had a few pear blossums but no pears. Then the third year, there was more of the same. In the spring of the 4th year, I thought, this tree is getting pretty big so maybe I will have fruit this year, and then the blossums came and the blossoms dropped to the ground!
So I asked a clerk at a local tree nursery what the problem was and she told me I needed a second pear tree for cross pollination. I said, gee, I never thought of that! Well, I originally thought that but wasn't sure. So I purchased one from this nursery.I have had this second tree for going on 4 years now and have never had pear blossums! I figured, well, I'll just have another pearless summer, but that's ok.
I was looking at that tree today as I was picking and eating some blueberries growing nearby, and I noticed one pear growing on the whole dang tree! I was so excited! I had to tell all my neighbors about that miracle pear of mine! Don't know how the hell it got there but I was pretty impressed just the same!
That must be true what they say...."God moves in mysterious ways!"

I hope it is yummy...but also not a bartelet pear tree....they are invasive and fragile however they get huge too with lots of blossoms, but winds knock tops out of them seriously damaging the trees
That is a big pear. I bet next year there will be more than one.
peary nice Bob..........................., I love fruit that we pick straight from our own trees - 'm waiting for my lemons on my little lemon tree x
lemon tree is so pretty but the lemon flower is so sweet...lyrics from old song....cant remember more....
But the fruit from the lemon is impossible to eat x
I love pears. That is one tree that we don't have here, unfortunately. I do plan to buy some though. When I was growing up on our farm, we had two huge pear trees that always seemed to have a bumper crop. Loved picking them and eating them right off the tree. They were the best. Hope next year you have more than one.
Guess what, bob? I live on Pear St. Literally. Love your pear tree.
Whooh! Hooh!
You enjoy that pear..... Love the pear.... xo
Cool
Pear with me for a moment ( I know, I can't help myself Bob ) xxxxxx:)
First pear I ever grew. I sometimes wish I had a tree full, but I am happy with one. Must be something symbolic in that.
Reminds me of my yellow magnolia tree. I had it for something like 15 years and the first time it flowered was the year I went through my divorce and it had just one flower! That was such a lonely feeling, but encouraging at the same time because I knew that would be the beginning of many flowers in the years ahead!
I have no doubt you will get many, many flowers on your magnolia tree, they will come in abundance xxxxxx
And one for the road........................................Pearsonally, you are one special dude, and one day will have trees full of pears and beautiful magnolia flowers, they will come x you know it, I know it !!!
Power to the Pear!!
One word on your post: WOW!!!
