My Knee is feeling a bit better
My knee is slowly recovering from whatever I did to it. I think it has something to do with using the laptop in bed somehow, like the laptop rests on it funny or something. Since I've been using the laptop in bed to spare my back, my foot started hurting because of the way I was sitting and then also my knee hurt. But my back has been feeling better, so it's a give and take I guess. I've learned how to sit so I don't hurt my foot, I just need to find a way to type without hurting my knees. The way I'm typing right now is pretty good... I can type fast and not have to worry about my knees. What I'm doing is sitting on my bed with my back against some pillows and my knees bent up and the laptop is on my knees kinda leaned against the V between my stomach and my bent knees.
I talked to my stepdad today. He and my brother are going to Italy later this summer. I'm so jealous! I did have a chance to go with them to England when I graduated college, but I ended up not being in shape mentally to handle it. I felt so bad for them, having to cancel at the last minute, but there was no way I could have handled that trip at that point in my life. Instead, I used the money and moved here to Miami to be with Geo and spent a bunch of time just recovering from the stress of my last semester in college. My last semester I was in and out of the mental hospital a couple times since the stress just got to me. I have to be careful now not to get too stressed because that's when the disorders start acting up.
That's one of the reasons I choose to take on the stress challenge from Spark People. I know that stress is a big thing for me, that it can spell the difference between me being in the hospital and me being at home. I don't think there's anyone who likes being in the hospital, so of course I want to stay out of it. I've been in a bunch of them over the years, and the ones here are not very nice. There was a nice one in LA that I had gone to, but other than that there wasn't any nice ones in LA either. I'm talking about mental hospitals, by the way, even though normal hospitals aren't nice to be in either. The one hospital I liked to go to is in danger of being shut down for some reason... I don't know why. It was the best- they did therapy all day there, they really helped me when I had to go, the staff was nice, all that good stuff. They even let you use your cell phone at night, which was a big thing for me since I don't know of any other mental hospital that lets you use a cell phone. Anyway, I need to control my stress level so I can stay out of the hospitals. Today wasn't too stressful... Just slept a lot and relaxed.
I'm feeling a bit less depressed today. I'm not up to feeling good again, I had a migraine, but I'm feeling better than yesterday. I wish there was a bigger scale for mood on this place. I want like a 1-10 scale, and even then when you are bipolar it's funny. You can be feeling like you are a 10, but when you are manic a 10 is really a 1 since you are doing really bad mentally. I try and do it so when I'm hypomanic or manic I still put that I'm on the bad side since even though I'm feeling good I know it's bad.
Sleep/Food- I got 11 hours of sleep last night, plus a 2 hour nap when I wasn't feeling well. I ate some rice and sauce for breakfast, macos for lunch, regular dinner and some ice cream since I was low on calories again. I'm still on the low side for calories, but I did the best I could. I need to go to the store so I can get more food, but Geo's dad hasn't called us so we can go. We don't have a car, so going to the store alone is hard on the bus.
