My Journey So Far
April 1st was my rebirth day. And now, nearly two weeks later, I'm back to living my life and feeling better. I think it was a good idea to write my vision statement saying that I was moving on. It gave me a kick start. I find that I've been able to compartmentalize my grief. I'm able to look at it, miss my husband, and at the same time move on. It's a strange feeling, but it's not like I'm doing anything different with my life. I'm still working. Still doing basically the same things, but I'm more accepting of where I am now. I know who I am. In the past, I spent my days thinking of all I've lost. Replaying scenes from my marriage. But not now. I've moved on.
So, I've come to think that writing a vision statement is the best thing anyone can do. Do it if you want a new job. Do it if you're wanting something in your life. And say it out loud. God said let there be light. He didn't think it. He said it, making the light come by his command. So I say command your life. If you're feeling depressed. Say I'm not depressed. Say it until it becomes real. Make it real.

Wow your writing is both inspiring and helpful...but apparently I can only choose one to rate your journal entry...lol There is so much truth and power in what you\'re saying about speaking light into your life. Sunday morning Dr. Charles Stanley was speaking on something related to this very thing. Good for you, I will do this soon. Thank you for sharing somethng so positive! hugs
Good thoughts - visualizing is good too. Thanks. Vicki
I like your idea of the Vision Statement and say out loud what you want. It\'s a good idea and I might try it myself. I have been really missing Smokey a lot these last two weeks. He has been gone for 1 year and five months now. I think the reason Dave is in my life is help me through this grief process. Dave is fun and we enjoy one another\'s company. My other distraction is that I get to do a lot of babysitting. This way I am getting to know my grandson well. I enjoy it. I have to babysit this evening. Lisa is on maternity leave. She works for one person on Sundays for ten hours. I put in a 12 hour babysitting shift on Sundays. Lisa goes to night school on Mondays and Wednesday so I babysit from 4:30 - 10. On occasion Lisa and Grant want a date night so I babysit then. I don\'t mind. What else is positive to do than babysitting my own grandson. Anyways I want to try the things you mentioned. All the best to you and your move forward from Diane B.
I am happy for you, you sound content with your life, Hugs Lu Ann
Great post of inspiration and good news on your journey as well. I\'m back to just trying to figure out what it is I do want. Am moving forward but just now I keep getting \'rest in Him\' so letting go of the struggle and resting in Him and trusting Him to lead me where I need to go. Have general positive picture of what I do want just not what I want to do job wise...Hugs, D
I like it..sounds like a good idea...I think in some ways I have all ready done it but just haven\'t realized it...I don\'t dwell on the past anymore..besides the fact that it\'s painful..I\'d rather think about all the good times instead of the bad...Hugs, Ellen
