My first day back to work

My first day back to work after your passing.  Coming home was so painful.  You were not at the door peeping your head, barking with glee because Mommie was home, wagging your tail, with your dog tags jingling as you run towards me.  I walked in the door...and heard...nothing...it was the worst silence EVER!  I love you Cookie.  I miss you...

I can hear your pain in your journal. Unfortunately, there will be other reminders (good and bad) as you move forward. I call it a \'new normal\' that we all have to get used to. I didn\'t think I\'d get used to coming out of the shower without Lady being there waiting for me. Sleeping in the bed without snuggling up, especially now that it\'s colder out... I wish there was a way we could avoid these sad times, but I wouldn\'t trade it for the world if that meant we would never have experienced the love.
I wish you well on your journey.
Much love xoxo

those first days are the worst, its heart wrenching and the silence and lonliness that meets us when we get home is the worst thing in the world,4 months on and i still feel the silence and the lonliness its there constantly.im slowly getting used to him not being there to greet me but some days its overwhelming and i just break down and cry.its such a change in ones life and only time will heal it,its a kick in the gut everytime we realise our baby wont be there to greet us again,i feel your pain, hugs xx
