my filter today

I arrived at work trouble by my own issues, mind and I just pushed on.

As the day moved on, I tried to deal with the jostling of coworkers and customers...

whereas as once I might try to build an inner bastion, compartmentalizing what might

come my way - I was not able today - and I dealt with the craziness as it came my way

by experiencing it and yet also remaining 'in my own lane' - and kind of 'working with a

filter on' - I drove home and the filter was still on - and yet though it was hard to transition

to being on my own - the filter (rather than the boundary) helped me experience the discomfort

but also appreciate my day. I came home and slowly I got back to being in touch with the people

I love - and that space - different from work and being 'out and about' - brought to me a sense of my filter

and so the transition to well being - love, friendship, joy and connection. I went out into the world to do an errand.

I resisted going out - but it's like I had to tell myself "Others have to go out too" - I don't know why I resist

but so I went out and did an errand and was texted along the way by the blessings of friends. And the people

I was in touch with around town seemed more in tune than before yet also filtering all the time.

Now home I am back into my own fortress but I know I have got to do other things. I'll try and motivate :).

I find myself wondering if we should bookmark yesterday's "Moving Forward" post. In the subtle scripts of the healing journey, progress happens, but it is rare to know exactly how and when it happens. I mostly let the mystery be and accept that it *just* does. Still, my inner armchair quarterback is wondering if we should mark this play. Just in case. . .
