my efffin Iphone
my phone has got me convinced that I can't do anything else but
pay attention to it - that being on my phone is somehow productive time
and because I like to keep busy I am finding myself doing less and lessĀ
extra curriculars and more time - even when at home in my bedroom -
scrolling and fidgeting on my phone. A false sense of productive.
I think I need to make some rules for myself or some mission statement
that when I am in my room if I want to do something, it will not be looking
at my phone. My room is pristine and it's like I don't even have the bandwidth
from this compulsion to appreciate it or to do anything in it - but serve the effin
phone. LOL my rant for the night.

It sure seems to be the way of the world now sweetie....as I comment to you on my phone...lol
So many people are addicted to their phones nowadays. I see them at 12 step meetings. They cannot pass the test of leaving their phone nearby and not touching it for 24 hours. I'm not saying you're addicted, but being preoccupied with a phone is a growing problem in our society and sadly, almost everyone does it. I admit, I do it to but the i catch myself doing it which reminds me that I have a choice. I can stop now or continue to take my chances with scrolling. :-)......hugs
You've reminded me to be more mindful of my phone use. It helps me if I don't see my phone. Maybe put it in a drawer in your room. Also, I've been tempted to schedule "downtime" and app limits. You can go to Settings and then Screen Time to see various options. You've inspired me to try this! I just scheduled downtime from 1:30 - 5:00 tomorrow. I challenge you to schedule some phone downtime tomorrow. :)
Thanks Janet, Bob and Susan!!!!!
uh-huh. . . blame it on the inanimate object.
i have been increasingly tech resistant since the turn of the millennium when the cloudy-its took away my rights to ownership of my art studio. subscription/internet dependent only. . . lately i think the resistance is morphing into phobia: fear of being just another drip in the cloud.
additionally, i am beginning to doubt my memory that there was ever a time when people were smarter than phones.
Thanks Arfie!!
