My Cat Died
My cat died last night from feline leukemia. Today after work I have to take my other 2 cats to get tested. I am very stressed and upset about possibly losing all my babies at once.
I don't want to be at work today but I can't take off because no one is working today because they let so many people take vacation at once. Now I have an emergency and can't take off. I don't wanna be here dealing with stupid people.
They are doing some shitty things at work lately, trying to push me into a dead end job here that I don't like and don't want. It's making me question some decisions I've made in life so far.
This whole thing with the cats brings up memories of other pets I was close to, but it also makes me think of my exes' kids that I got attached to and the feeling of loss I experienced. Not something I want to feel or think about.
I also feel it is causing issues with my fiance. I mean we have issues anyway, but what happened last night with our cat dying really showed off how not hooked up right his brain is. He did not react like a normal person emotionally, and he forgot just a few minutes after about the cats we have at home to worry about, and told me he wanted to go to a friend's house. Showed me what a horrible father he would make. So glad he is sterile and I'm on birth control for medical reasons.
I realized this morning that the reason one of my coworkers is not at work is because she went to our first highschool reunion. I was not invited and didn't even know we were having one. I still don't know where but apparently lots of partying going on. We were in the same class at school and it was a small school, but I get forgotten about and have to work. Im always left out.
And I have to grieve and be responsible and do pretty much everything alone. Always. Even when people are around, I still shoulder all my burdens alone. I'm so sad today. I hope my girls don't have to be put to sleep. I won't be able to come to work.

I am so sorry you lost your cat and there is fear that the other cats caught that horrible disease.....
I lost my big old dog Tucker last night too....just dropped him off at the humane society to get him cremated with ashes returned.....I am so so sad too....it is no fun to lose a fur baby our family will miss him....I just tossed out his bed as he had soiled it last night and it had melted in the dryer first time I washed it....so I had it duct taped together....it got rid of the smell from kitchen...but the smell is not fun to deal with either.....
sorry for your loss and I know how hard it is today especially....hugs bill
Thanks Bill, sorry you lost Tucker. My old dog is 13 or 14. My cat's name was Patch and he was only 2. I tried so hard to take good care of him. He was a rescue. At least he had 2 good years. I just try to think of that. My pets have a good life with me, even if it is a short life.
I can also relate........The hardest thing about owning a pet is having to say goodbye!
You have my deepest sympathy for your loss.
God Bless
It's almost time to crate the girls, Polly and Lucinda, and take them to the vet. I am so nervous and they are being clingy. They know something is wrong. I just wanna cry. I hope they are ok.
I bet they will be OK. Keep us posted.
Sharing the pain is, hands down, the hardest part of love, but for my psycho nickel, living without love is even harder.
Can I have love without sharing the pain? Dunno. . . To me, it sounds too shallow to be love.
Gentle support while you grieve, Ghost. Hope healing happens here.
Ok so they both tested negative and have been vaccinated as well as rabies shots. The question remains, where did Patch get the disease? There are 2 kinda feral cats outside. One is old and been here forever. The other...I think he needs to go bye bye.
Thanks for your support guys. Today was a very hard day to get thru. I'm so glad my girls are safe.
Thats great news!
I still have my buddy Shep but he is missing Tucker I know he seems lost and lonely
My deepest sympathy!! I know what it's like to lose a pet! Bet she was your favorite too. Glad your other two cats are fine. BTW, I do everything myself also, all the time. You're not the only one. I'm used to it but I do get that lonely feeling sometimes. and to be forgotten about all the time---that really sucks!! Try not to stress too much---do something relaxing and nice for yourself!
I think you are processing too much all at once. Park the work situation. Park the fiance situation.
Deal with the grief over the cats. It's a terrible event. Make sure other cats are ok. Plan a cat funeral.
