My brother stresses me out.
I had another meeting with the lawyer handling my parents will. My brother had to be there to sign something also and had to question everything.
I'm getting more of their estate than him and he just can't figure out why they would not divide it equally between us. He seems to think he should get more because one of the houses that I will be inheriting has a new air conditioner and the ones he is getting have old ones but he doesn't think it matters that he has been living in one of the rentals rent free for over 12 years and my parents have been paying almost all of his bills for him.
Somehow he is being treated unfairly because I'm getting more of the estate and the house I'm getting has new air conditioning even though he has gotten around $200,000 over the last fifteen years form them, That is easily twice the amount of the house I'm getting.
But we can't take all that money they have been paying to take care of him over the last fifteen years but we should take in to account the new air conditioner.
I can't take his denial of how much he has cost them and the pettiness. I have to wait for this to be over then I can put him aside and hopefully never have to deal with him again, tho, I doubt he will let that happen as he ruins his life and then comes to me to pay for him. He is so dependent on others but thinks he knows how best to run everyone's life. Yet, he can't manage to take care of himself.
There is still a question over if there will be enough money to pay us out the way my parents set it up and we get to keep the houses. Right now my brother is coming up short on his percentage. Isn't that just too bad. He has been leeching off my parents for fifteen years, maybe more and now there may not be enough to leave him to let him live off their inheritance to him. It would serve him right. I don't want to see it happen but it would be ironic that he has lived his life thinking he would inherit enough to support him even tho he has been sucking away their money all this time which would be left him to do this when they go.
It really feels good to write this out, I can feel some of the anxiety leaving as I do.
Well, it shoudln't be too much longer, a month maybe two, I hope. Then maybe I can get my life together and not have any worries about my brother any longer.
