My birthday yesterday & pondering my life now
It was my birthday yesterday. I turned 55 years of age. I am that much closer to 60 so it is a bit frightening for me. It was a lovely day, enjoyable, pleasurable and low key, which I prefer.
1. My older brother Don took me out for lunch.
2. My oldest friend Carol Simonson took me out for one beer
3. My boyfriend Dave madea delicious dinner
4. After dinner I went to Lisa, Dave and Tyson's place. They gave me some toiletries.
Carol Simonson and I are both dating guys who seem to be very similar. Both of us were wondering are we staying with them because we are so lonely or don't want to be alone? Her boyfriend is Alex and my boyfriend is Dave. They are similar to one another. They both drink a lot of beer and smoke pot. Alex is having problems with money and Dave has a loan. Carol had her share of awful men. She started with her ex-husband and next a bad guy named Steve. Now she is with Alex. I had my ex-husband Gary who was or is an alcoholic, abusive, controlling and violent. I then had Smokey who was not like Gary. He still loved his beer and playing Keno. He was not an alcoholic. I could see the difference and also had counceling when i was married to Gary. Now I am with Dave.
I want to get my life in order in every area of my life: spiritually, emotionally, mentally, health wise and money wise. I think I am okay spirtually, emotionally, mentally and I am healthy. I want to get the money thing going good and a full-time job would make the grade. I want to deal with my relationship with Dave once my own personal life is on track.
Dave is a good guy. He has many traits that I am looking for in a man. He is good, kind, loving, generous, giving, sharing, gentle, and cooks. I think Dave has not gotten over the fact that Catherine left him and took most of the things with her. They were hers from the beginning. I am not sure if Dave will ever be ready for a serious relationship. Dave likes being with me very much and has told Alla & Rob. After one year, I will have to think about our relationship. After one year, if things are still going good, I would not mind moving in together. If this poises a problem for Dave, at that juncture I might break things off with him. If I am ready to take it to the next level and Dave is not, we can't keep going on any more and it will have to come to an end. I think of these things way ahead of time. It used to bother Smokey but it is my way to plan or think ahead of time or before the situation arises in my life. I am not getting any younger and don't need to invest my time in a relationship that is not going anywhere.
I am in the throws of analyzing my relationship with Dave as not much is happening job wise in my life. I have a lot of time to think of things. I do think of many things. Too much thinking can be dangerous.
It is 7:43 a.m. in Richmond, BC Canada and it has snowed. Not many people can drive in the snow in BC.
Today I will try to get out 20 resumes this morning. I don't want to go out because of the snow. I need to clean my floors and build up the incentive to do them today as I don't want to go out. I need to do some banking and grocery shopping but the snow is making me less likely to want to go out.
I hope everyone else is having a good day today. If not, send me a Daily Strength email, journal writing or message. I will be checking them more often today as I will be home. Let's encourage one another no matter what the situation or problem is in our hearts. Nothing is too small to share or talk about even if we don't agree. It is healthy for our own bodies, mind and spirit to get it out in a healthy way like talking about it. You have been there for me when I really needed it. I appreciate each and everyone one of you from the heart of Diane B.
