My best pal

Today has been pretty rough. But right from the beginning of it lake was right there with me to make me feel better. He layed on me and cuddled up to me a lot today and it was really helpful. He has helped me through so many hard times I honestly have no freaking idea where I'd be without him. Like i dont know if I'd even be here I just can't fathom life without him. He even sits on a chair at the table with me almost every day if there's no space at the table we eat on the floor together. I always tell myself as long as we are together I can get through it. Sometimes He is the only thing getting me through the day. I am so thankful for him. So here is a pic of him for you guys if anyone comes across this journal maybe it'll make you smile. He is a funky little dog and I have like over a thousand pictures of him looking funny.5c2688212bc1643e257d371346721bb4408bbaa3.png

Priscilla, my current therapy dog, is drooling all over my keyboard. She wants to know when she can get a sniff of this hound hunk. She says she loves being here for all my therapy needs, but even ambitious girls have their personal needs. When I named her, "Priscilla" I was hoping for a prissy proper dog, but? ? ?

The faithless hussy turned out to be a "Persilly." She's the white dog in my avi pict. I think she still misses the hound hunk she is sharing a bone with in the picture.

Well lake would probably be terrified of Priscilla haha he is not good with other dogs (other than my sister's dog) because I never socialized him well when I first got him. He also had multiple bad expirienced with the dogs that used to live with us. But from your picture she looks very adorable. What breed is she?

Lake is a puggle (pug/beagle mix) he is always making me laugh. He also has his personal needs, he isnt usually the most cuddly i think a lot of the time he prefers to be by himself napping outside my door. So I am very thankful when he lays with me and gives me cuddles.

All the therapy dogs I have ever known aren't any more socialized than their persons. Priscilla will never be a dog park dog. She has gotten into snap matches every time I've tried, but she gets to go places other dogs don't even know exist. I'm careful about introducing her to other dogs, but typically once they get past the tail-sniffing rituals, she is okay with them. You should see her with our new-to-us donkey stallion. He is about two years old and the two of them are beginning to look like a match made in heaven. She's even helping me with his training. Leash training and lead training are not too far apart.

Persilly is a rescue dog. All we know for sure is that she was thrown from a moving car window when she was about 9 months old. 10 years later, she is still car phobic. When I take her on the road with me, I feel fully secure leaving her in the car with the windows down. The folks at the shelter told me she was a lab mix, but I have since been told my quite a few random admirers that she is a well-bred American Pit Bull. I was clueless. I love dogs, but don't much trust the inbreeding it takes to create a breed, so I don't keep up with the breeds. For sure, she is the most trainable and loyal dog I have ever loved. It's breaking my heart that at 10 years old she is already suffering arthritis.

Yeah I think that is true. I'm hoping someday lake and I will be able to go out together and go to walking trails and stuff. I think it'd be good for the both of us.

I'm not sure I know what a donkey stallion is though. Is it a horse or a donkey? I don't know much about farm animals haha just that someday I really want goats and maybe cows because they are so cute and id love to be able to use their milk to make stuff.

Lake is terrified of cows and horses though. I'm sure if he actually was able to go up to one he might be okay but that is if the animal didn't get scared of him. All dogs don't like him because he is so anxious around them they get scared that he'll attack. He's never done that and I can tell he won't but dogs have a special language with each other.

That is so awful though how could someone do that to her? I'm glad she found you and has a loving home now. Sometimes dogs never grow out of their anxieties. Lake actually loves cars apparently. Every time he sees anyone trying to get in the car he tries to run after them and get in. He came from Amish people and he freaking hates seeing them riding around in their horse and buggies he loses it every time he sees them.

From your pic it really does look like she is a pitbull. I love pit bulls they are adorable. I also don't necessarily like the breeding process they go through to make pure breeds. Like golden retrievers have been so over bred they they have an extremely high chance and developing cancer and dying very early on in life.

Apparently lake was "an accident" but we believe they purposefully bred the mom and dad because puggles are a designer breed worth a lot of money. Usually the mother is supposed to be the beagle as the puppies are too big to come out of a pug but sadly his mom was a pug. We think she ended up with some kind of problem with her uterus but after everything that happened she ended up going to the shelter and getting medical attention. It is kind of a crazy story how we got lake but I am very glad we ended up together.

Im sorry she has arthritis now. It is sad that dogs only spend a small part of our lives with us I wish they could live longer. I'm sure it is hard to watch them get old. But at least you have so many amazing memories with her and you still get to spend every day with her. It is hard to not take animals for granted honestly.
