mustering a better perspective
work went ok today. My coworkers and I for some reason seemed to be
coming from different directions. Ah well. It felt like none of them gave a rat's
behind. I left work feeling just at a loss - but slowly after I took care of the routine
of things after work here at home - I slowly just remembered to start to stay in my own lane about things again...
Some folks were still lovely in other departments and I'm inclined to just
keep on keeping on with a toss it over my left shoulder type thing and appreciate those
other moments.
It would be great to have a touchstone in life to just sort out my feelings -
and I suppose it's right here and now. I am grateful for the site and my therapist.
I marvel at how some folks are able to analyze and manage their feelings with partners in their lives too..
Anyways - all's good. I look forward to tomorrow. I've gotta clean up
here and then prepare for the afternoon routine.

the best swords are double-edged and cut both ways. on the good days, i adore having a partner who has known me more than half my senior life and helps me reason things out with intuitive ease. on the bad days, he holds me to habits i'm trying to lose and gets in the way of finding a fresher perspective. always a cuss-worthy flaw, huh? why can't life be pure and simplistic?
just toss it over your shoulder and keep on keeping on.
the imagery of giving a rat's ass has always boggled my mind. why do i want to give rat's asses? let the poor rodent have something to sit on. my eldest son (now 43) has been extremely fond of that colloquialism since junior high school. by the time he started high school, i had transposed "rat's ass" to "rat sass."
Haha thanks Arfie!
Not everyone can always be in the same boat. Sometimes we gotta think of everyone else in their own boat and how can we direct traffic on the river in a way that works for all.
Happy Christmas weekend!!!!
You have a great attitude Mark. You should be proud of yourself.
Thanks Nikki and Becky!!
