Moving On
Well today marks 16 months since Luis's departure almost a year and a half. Still feels like yesterday but also like years since I've heard that voice of his saying Lisa I'm home reminded me of I love Lucy. There have been a few changes I did redecorate my house the family room which is where I spend most of my time. I also got a new job at the High School the kids are pretty great. I feel like I have a little more purpose. I have a great support system with family and friends, my mom bless her heart will be 91 and is still with me. She's pretty tough for her age. She goes to a Senior day center and she just loves it tell me all the stories about the other people and all the fun she has playing bingo. It's so funny it's like I am the mom picking up my child and she tells me her whole day. God has been good to me throughout this rough period which will be a scar in me forever but I know I will see Luis again and that keeps me focused. I am spending the holiday weekend with my son in Conn which will be nice. Living in Fl it is so hot here will be nice to cool off for a few days. As I think back on this awful experience one thing does come to mind that women are so strong, most men by now would be remarried. I went to see a move The Help and there you see how strong women can be and how well they bond. Reading all the comments here has helped me so much and of course it's mostly women. In the bible it does say that God takes care of the widows I truly feel he does because I have done so much and never would I have thought I could of gone so far in such a short time. I know one thing for sure time does not heal anything ever, time changes you and as you change you move on and get stronger because you become a different person you really have no choice. It's been awhile since I've been on this site but today is the 26th and Luis died April 26th, I don't know why I decided to start up again but I felt like I needed to share this. I am trying to stay positive and focused and counting my blessings everyday and giving each day to God as he guides me through. God be with all of you and may the Lord help all find comfort peace and joy. Hugs Lisa
