moving forward vs moving on

Moving on requires very little effort. It is what we are forced to do. Breathe, eat, sleep (a little), pay the bills, try a little.
Moving forward requires effort. A vision of a future. Of happiness.... A desire to grow and live.
Life was stolen from me at one time. Along with a sense of control and security.
I can actively pursue the sense of security again and find comfort in feeling like I am in control of "some things".
I know what I want. I know what I need. I know what makes me feel comfortable.
It wasn't what I thought it was. It is love. It is people. It is my children feeling happiness and having a good Christmas, despite the missing stocking over the fire place.
It is the freedom to choose what I do. Who I am with and how I express myself.
God is not done with me yet. I know. I can have purpose in my life. I can experience life and provide while I am doing just what I am supposed to do. Live.
Moving on is natural. Our irrational beliefs make us think that we can no longer live without this person or that we can't "go on".
Moving forward can be helped when we have people around us who believe in us. It's like a spark to a fire. Life is meant to be lived.
I remember people telling me "You will be fine."
"You will meet someone else."
"You are strong."
My beliefs were not along the same lines as theirs, but I am so glad they shared with me.
I have faced many fears, shed many tears and learned to really love me.
I am moving forward..... time has been my friend
(Christmas is not about me. It is about Christ. The gift of love from God. My 14 year old daughter told me this the other day.)
