More New Information

By the way, I added one more comment to the previous entry.
I am feeling much calmer going into this new year (After the Winter Solstice) based on something I read in the same book, in the last chapters. I even have more hope than with just the understanding the peptides. Here is what I read that is helping me:
Pg 286, Chris Prentiss, "Alcoholism & Addiction Cure":
I came to see that Universal law governs everything. Once I understood that, I was able to perceive and understand a great many aspects of the world in which we live. For instance, I learned that all the laws of the Universe are in favor of the continuation of the Universe. How do I know that to be true? The truth is self-evident. Astronomers and scientists tell us that the Universe has been around in its current state for about 13.7 billion years. If there was even one law that favored discontinuation, surely it would have come to pass by now. Since it hasn't, I feel it is safe to believe that all the laws are in favor of continuation. [By the way, Chris got much of his conclusions about this from reading and understanding the "I Ching"]
Carrying that thought further, I assumed that the Universe was perfect. If you believe that God or a Supreme Being of any other name is the cause of everything, and if you believe in the popular conception of a Supreme Being that is all-knowing and all-powerful, it follows that whatever comes from that Supreme Being, such as the Universe itself, has to be perfect as well. (Incidentally, validating everything that happens as "perfect" puts you in step with the Supreme Being whom you believe is causing it. If you believe in God, but you believe that we live in an imperfect Universe, then it necessarily follows that the God you believe in is also imperfect.)
The next step in my thinking process led me to understand that whatever happens is the best possible event that can happen. If one thing could happen that was truly bad --- one thing that was imperfect --- so could three, four, five, and more imperfect bad events happen, which could possibly lead to destruction. But that doesn't happen. The Universe continues to be perfect at every moment and never permits even the first imperfect event to occur. It goes from perfect to perfect to perfect --- endlessly.
Carrying that thought still further, I came to believe that I was part of the Universe, as an integral, inseparable part, and therefore everything that happened was for my complete benefit. Even if an incident hurt me or took something from me, it would always work out to my benefit since the Universal will not let anything bad happen to itself, and I am part of "itself".
I came to see the entire Universe as alive and aware, a living breathing entity that has consciousness --- that is consciousness. That is why I capitalize the word Universe. What most people refer to as God, Allah, Jehova, Buddha, or any of a thousand other names people use to refer to a supreme entity, I simply think of and refer to as "The Universe," a vast energy source of consciousness.
He goes on to say he uses the statement "I wonder what good thing will come of this?" regularly, and without fail. He further states, and now I agree: "Because the core of my personal philosophy is that everything that happens benefits us, I was also spared the futility of cursing my bad luck, lamenting the occurence, or feeling as if I was a victim." This is the line that struck me as VERY IMPORTANT to remember and share with my friends. He continues, and then I'll stop: "All of life presents us with two basic ways to treat events. We can either label them "good for us" or "bad for us". How we treat those events determine what they become in our lives. It is not the event that determines the outcome. The event is only an event. It's how we treat the event that determines its outcome in our lives."
I have heard this philosophy presented many times, in different ways. THIS TIME I was ready to understand, and begin to use, it.
I hope it helps my friends.
