More Hours Volunteering
They asked me today to come in more hours for volunteering. I put in 5 hours today, will do 3 tomorrow and another 3 on Friday. They want me to do 2 3-hour days, normally Monday and Tuesday, and then a 5 hour day on Friday. They originally asked me to do 3 3-hour days and 2 full days, but that's way too much for me. I may have been feeling good on Friday, but I know when I'm way over my head, and that would have been way over my head. I'm just glad that they think enough of me to want to keep me even more. It makes me feel better. I did ask them about getting hired on eventually, but I didn't get the reaction I wanted. They weren't mad, but they said that I would have to check the board to see openings and interview for them. I guess I should have expected that... I shouldn't have thought that they would hire me right away for anything I wanted, or even create an opening for me. I was just being big-headed, since I know that they liked having me there. I'm sure that it won't be a problem once something opens up that I like, but until then (and until I'm ready) I won't be looking for anything anyplace else. At least I know how it will work when I'm ready to start working there. I should start keeping an eye on the board just to see what's going on, what kind of thing opens up and such.
I felt so tired today! I woke up okay, but after about 2 or so I started getting more and more tired. I came home from work at 5 and took a nap around 6. I normally never take naps that late, but I was just so tired that I couldn't help falling asleep. I tried to stay awake but couldn't. I'm still tired now, and hopefully I will be able to sleep tonight. I have to be up at noon to work tomorrow, so I can sleep in at least. I tried watching TV with Geo for dinner, but I was just so tired I ate and came to lie down again. I napped from 6-6:45 and then ate, came and lay down again around 7:15 but didn't sleep. I just lay down for about a half hour and then started checking my journals and stuff. I read a bunch of people's journals and comment on them, so I like doing that right before or after dinner.
I'm starting to get more and more into this routine that my therapist was talking about. She wants me to get into one so I don't forget to do things like take my meds and stuff, even though I remember them almost every day. But it's good to have a routine, especially if you are mentally ill. I just don't want to get into the mindset that everything has to be in this routine or else I can't do it. I know that's a possibility, where I just shut down if things don't go my way. That's why I like a bit of shaking things up in my routine, and for me that's in the mornings. But the mornings is when I have forgotten to take my pills. The night I have pretty much down, but it still gets in my way sometimes. Geo likes to watch long movies every now and then, and I don't like to because it messes up my nightly routine. I should tell him that so he knows why I get fussy around the same time every night (around 8:30) because that's interfering on my computer time. We could change things up by watching the movie earlier, or finding some other way to compromise. I just know that once I get set into a routine it's hard to break me of it. I should talk about that to my therapist as well, to make sure I don't get into this black and white mindset about my routines.
Food today was pretty good... I did have some chicken McNuggets, but other than that my food was good today. I had a leftover piece of chicken for breakfast, the nuggets and some potatoes for lunch, and regular dinner with ice cream for dessert. Stress was moderate today... I was eating a bit more I think because I was stressed out and the food was there. My coworker had some McDonald's and her stomach was hurting, so she gave it to me and I ate it. I know if she hadn't brought in McDonald's I wouldn't have eaten it... I have to quit eating because food is there. That's one of my bigger problems with eating- eating because the food is there. Well, I know what I need to work on. Sleep was okay... I felt like I blinked and woke up suddenly and felt like I didn't sleep at all. I call that "blink sleep". Mood was good today.. I'm going to downgrade to good since I'm not feeling as good as I was the other day.

You are getting into a routine which is good.. Are you still using the pack pack on the table to remind you to take your pills.
good idea to keep checking the board to see what is posted.
how many times a day do you take your meds 2 or 3? it is hard to take the morning ones as it is so late when you take them, it concerns me that it may affect the evening ones. it is great you are adding hours to volunterring, they really do like you, and you were not being big-headed, you didnt know and so now you do, just keep checking the board. you are doing really well.
