moments of derailment

The day started well. It's a day off for me and so I got my car serviced first thing at 7am.

Came back home and had lunch and then got a call from my bro. He's a nice guy - but our conversation

was intense and upsetting...derailing for me. Phew! I am helping with a project of his and

anyway - the long and the short of it was, after the call, I felt wounded and derailed from my

trajectory that I was on for the day. I immediately started cleaning my home - and then stopped.

I wrote and called my therapist and I don't usually do this - but today I just lost perspective

and needed extra help. I went for a walk...I got the mail, paid a bill, went to the cafe for a coffee.

And now I've been watching the Press conference on the Coronavirus. Slowly the blinding pain is passing

and I thought about enduring 'moments of derailment' like this. It happens. For sure.

Today I really lost the forest for the trees, but I kept the faith "hope" and just finally was distracted enough by tv or texting or chores.
It was a lesson to me. Voicing it here is hard but I thought it valuable to create a journal about it.
Onward to the rest of the day... have a good night people! :) good kharmic wishes! peace!

Those "moments of derailment" are the heart and soul of my drive to isolate. Even the humans I know best are still unpredictable critters and, like you, those derailments tend to impact me long after the moment of derailment has passed. A freight train falls off its tracks a fuckload more easily than it gets back on track. My instinct is to keep the train in the roundhouse, but that is a waste of a perfectly good train.

What's a nutjob to do? ? ?

Gentle support while you get back on track, Mark. Be gentle with yourself and patient with the process.
