Mixed Bag

Actually, it was more bad than good today.  After getting a major prop-up yesterday when I needed it (you know who you are), I really didn't need this to happen.
So, priority registration starts on Tuesday.  I got an e-mail earlier in the week from my advisor saying that she had an advance session available today.  It was from 11:30-12:30.  I e-mailed her back telling her that unless something went wrong I'd be there around noonish.
Unfortunately, something went wrong.  And predictably, the math class was implicated again.  This time, factoring ate me alive.  I didn't have a clue what I was doing...and the professor didn't answer my questions in a way that made any sense.  Forced to retreat to guessing-and-checking tactics because I don't understand the concept -- any of it -- I did eventually finish the required in-class assignment....at 12:30.
So much for the advising session.  I e-mailed my advisor and explained what happened, but getting a chance to meet her now will be a crap shoot at best.  To make matters worse, it served as a reminder that my help outs aren't ideal, which basically acts as the final insult in a week when my worries have been so bad that literally nothing got done, I missed three class sessions thanks to sleep issues (the count this semester is now up to seven if anyone cares...yes, I know that's way too high), and I had to put up an emergency post on the depression board here because I felt like I was at the end of my rope.
Now for the good news.  The responses to said post were useful, especially one that's starting to make me think about how I try to relax in a whole different way than before (I should have sent that responder a friend request -- maybe I will when I'm done here -- because I owe her a big one for that).
The other boost came later...accidentally, but I'll take it.  I was working with one of my usual trainers in the studio this afternoon when the third trainer there stopped by for a few moments.  She talked with the guy who was training me for a couple of minutes, then peered into the room and saw me in between sets.  We hadn't seen each other in over a year, a direct result of me having to change my appointment time back in January to accomodate a Saturday class I had back in the spring.
"Hi David!" she said.
"Hi Bethany!  I haven't seen you in an age!  Can I give you a huggle?"
I miss her a lot, and vice versa, so we gave each other a quick hug, which helped melt some of my feelings of aggravation away.  Don't get me wrong...hugs here are great.  But sometimes, you need the real thing.
