Missing for a Few Days
I have checked in here over the last few days, but haven't really posted much or journaled at all. I spent some time just being and also rent a few movies to watch with the kids. I really haven't even been there for my friends that phone or text me, I just shut down for a little personal regrouping. I'm not sure it helped! :-)
I woke up this morning feeling pretty ready to take on Monday. I let out the puppies, woke up my son, got a cup coffee. Helped my son go through the huge pile of clothes to find the ever illusive socks, and then fed the puppies. While I was feeding the puppies, I saw a flash out the window. Was that my son? And why is he NOT at the bus stop? Out I go in the cold frosty morning and yes, he is trying to hide from going to school again! While I am asking him if he is determined to reach suspension or JDC or something, the puppies see the perfect opportunity to dash away. So, I somehow manage to supervise my son getting back to the bus stop while the puppies are finding my attempts to convince them to come quite hilarious. As luck would have it, the puppies were quite frightened by the bus and came running for mamma - whew!
Back inside, my daughter is attempting to search through the pile of laundry while wrapped precariously in a towel and innocently asks if I knew where any leggings might be...yep, she got the snap! She got the full brunt of my morning so far and the fact that I am pretty sure she did nothing for almost 3 hours last night while I took a sociology exam. Pretty sure I had previously folded the clothes, and told the kids to take theirs before puppies got ahold of them. Didn't happen and now they are back to a big messy pile. I even mentioned to her that she needed to take care of her laundry while I took the exam and so, yeah...not a happy mamma.
Of course after the exam last night, I decided to relax and watch a movie instead of doing my Arabic homework because it wasn't so much and I was just going to fit it right in this morning :-) Somehow this is always a famous last thought!
I am feeling reminded of a post I read about getting off your BUT...I have been journaling off and on for a while now about the need to realign the kids who suddenly seem to be pushing things one little inch at a time, but...
Yep, there it is, the dreaded BUT...I need to get off of my BUT and take care of this before my wonderful kids end up not so wonderful kids!!

Ooh, sounds like a lot on your plate rani, sounds a good idea to batten down and tough out some boundaries with your kids before they are nibbled away to nothing. Hope things with school aren\'t too frustrating xx
Wow you have a lot going on. Arabic sounds INSANELY difficult. Whats wrong with a nice Romance language with the same alphabet? LOL
I must say you have your hands full. Puppies and teen-agers, both are pretty high maintenance!!!!
Arabic is a bit difficult compared to some languages, but mainly it is just an INTENSE class ;-) It is required for my additional Middle Eastern Studies degree and well, I already know French and a bit of Spanish.
My kids whipped into gear last night and we actually got a lot of household things caught up and discussed a plan for better maintenance and responsibility before mamma becomes a very mean mamma. The puppies start obedience classes next week, too...so hopefully, we will all get in a better rhythm soon.
