Miscarriage #5
In November I was diagnosed with my 5th loss. At 7 weeks the baby looked fine and had a healthy heartbeat, by my 11 week check-up the baby had died. After doing the medication, then required a D&C in December my results showed that I had a partial mole (molar pregnancy). The D&C didn't get everything so I had to be monitored and then ended up being reffered to the gynecologic endocrinologist. I had another D&C two weeks ago and go today for a follow-up. If the 2nd D&C doesn't get my levels down then I will require chemo treatments to kill the molar tissue that is making my hcg levels hang around. The has been a brutal and exhausting process while trying to deal with my loss.
All of the losses over the last couple of years have really taken a toll on me and my marriage. Things will never be the same again. We are forever changed by this devastation. I was told that I will never be able to carry a healthy pregnancy naturally and have been told that I cannot even go see the fertility specialist for a whole year after complete remission from the molar pregnancy I am still battling with. It's really sad knowing that I might never be a mother on this earth. My husband has ruled out adoption and fostering (which I really want to do) and our only hope is the possibility of IVF a year or more from now.
