mini crash, I hope
Wheeeeee, around and around we go!!! I'd been feeling fairly good for a while, but I've been running on less than 5 hours sleep per day for a couple of weeks ...... couldn't fall asleep until after 3 am and up by or before 8 am ...... 3 cups of coffee and and not functional until 11 am ----- you know, typical cfs.
By Sunday, I was struggling to stay awake in church -- Sunday school starts at 10 am.. My husband hates when I get that way, but there's not much I can do about it.
Running around with my daughter yesterday just about did me in!!!! I took a sleeping pill about 9:30 last night. I was out cold by 10 pm and I woke up at about 8 this morning. I couldn't function after coffee ---- almost dropped my cup a few times --- so I crashed on the couch and slept til noon. Been feeling really weak and draggy all day.
Yesterday, my daughter took me to a Japanese restaurant where you watch the chef cook your food on the hibachi grill. I ate raw fish there for the first time in my life. It was good, but I prefer mine cooked! We also toured a Korean grocery store (one of the advantages of being near an army post???) That grocery store had things I wouldn't dream of eating (Well, I do like calimari, but that's as far as I'll go!) : squid and octopus, frozen whole or sliced and freeze dried; mackerel and cuttlefish frozen whole, guts and all; dried seaweed: rice by the 25 lb bag, and all kinds of spices ....... everything was written in Korean. By the time we we finished at the grocery, I didn't have the energy left to go to the mall or the flea market!
My daughter wants to take me to the Adams, Tennessee Wheat Threshers' Show on Friday ---- crafts (jewelry, quilts, clothes, baskets, kitchen utensils, animal cages, hats, you name it), mule pulls, old steam engines, steam tractors, animals and people galore, food that'll send ya straight to Heaven either from the fabulous taste or the fat and salt content -- which ever gets ya first, and lots and lots of walking. It's been several years since I've been to the show, so I'd really like to go and take the camera. I'll have to sleep all day tomorrow and Thursday to get up enough energy to do what my daughter wants to do. I may have to break my diet and eat some sugar to get through Friday!
Have y'all ever heard of Adams, Tennessee????? No??? Well have ya ever heard of The Bell Witch??? The John Bell family lived in Adams, TN in the early 1800's. His family was terrorized by the Bell Witch. The Bell farm is a tourist stop, now. I've canoed down the Red River past the Bell farm.
I may live in MONKY, but we've got it all within less than and hour's drive from here .... the Robert Penn Warren birthplace; the Jefferson Davis birthplace; Fort Campbell Army Base; Native American Pow-wows near burial sites of the Cherokee chiefs, Whitepath and Fly Smith at the Trail of Tears Park; the National Corvette Museum; space aliens; witches ............ what else is out here???? Is that a weird mix, or what!!! Who would want to live anywhere else????? Hey ...... are all y'all laughing at me, now?
I do have a serious question, though. There's so much I used to do that I can't do now. There's so many things that I still want to do! I push myself too hard too often. Guessing from what I've read about and from most of you, we all seem to be, or have been, type A personalities. Do you think that makes us more prone to cfs?

My goodness!! I thought Monky was a quiet little place right out woop woop.Sounds very exciting, I\'m on my way.Just as soon as I find that thingy. You know that thingy.Yes that\'s it ENERGY!!! So happy you have been out and about and having some girly time with your daughter.I love to hear about my DS friends having fun and new experiences.I would agree about a lot of us being A types..High achievers, workaholics etc etc Problem is how to repair after burning ourselves out . Doesn\'t seem to be an easy one , bit of a mystery.Hope you make it to that show and have yourself a blast girl xoxo
Goodness! I thought that MONKY was out in the boonies! You ARE close to a lot of cool stuff! History and all!! Pretty neat. Gives you a lot to do on those yucky days. Seems like your daughter is rarin to go and take you with her. The ideas sound wonderful, but I know I wouldn\'t have the strength to keep up with her. I just think it\'s super that she loves to do stuff with her mom. I know my day out with my daughter are special.
And YES! I think that 95% of us were/are Type A\'s. I actually don\'t know one CFS\'er that was ever a couch potato before onset of the illness!! Most of us were at work, on the job, traveling, under high stress, and pushing through like this whole thing wasn\'t happening to us. IMHO...that\'s why some of us are so much sicker than others. We just didn\'t know to knock it off and rest. I\'m in this mess for eight years now. I\'m used to it, I guess. I know that I never know what\'s ahead of me, which increases my anxiety. Most of us have that too! So it\'s a vicious cycle.
Rest now....I\'ll interpret what you\'re body\'s trying to tell ya. You\'re having a crash, nothing earth shattering....but you know it will mess you up if you don\'t slow down. You don\'t wanna end up in bed for a week or more feeling like poop.
Put yer feet up there woman. Hopefully you can enjoy some nice time with your girl!!
Oh, and with my dad being the preacher man, and me watching the congregation from the front seat every Sunday of my life, I can tell you that the people that were falling asleep did NOT have CFS, ya know? At least you have a reason for nodding off! I had to stop going to church because it starts at 10 a.m. Don\'t know how you do it! Lord knows our hearts!! That\'s what matters!!
Hope you pull out of your mini crash in a big hurry! xoxo
I think there is definitely a type a connection. Enjoy your upswing but take some more of those sleep meds, force the rest.
