mia is ok, but still hiding.....

thank you for your encouragement.......little Mia found a very unexpected hidey hole in my kitchen.

a very smart little miss.......i'm worried about her, but with your help i feel much better this morning reading your words.

last night i couldn't sleep for worry.....so i prayed myself to sleep.

in the corner of the kitchen cupboards is a hole of some sort.  i can't feel it just yet cause i don't want to make things worse, but i spy a tiny little kitten head with soft little ears peeking out.  i put her food down in the middle of the kitchen to urge her out, she is so much quicker than i am......but i feel better knowing she is safe, not injured.

i've been feeding her the same food her sponsor left with me, the purina wet food and the purina kitten chow, so the smell may be from her existing food......Linda may not have known since Mia was outside all the time......lots of fresh air and no enclosed spaces outside!!!

eventually i'll switch her food over....right now because my back is turned to mia she is out of her refuge, she is eating with gusto.......i turn to look at her and she stops eating to approach her safe house.....bless her scared little cautious heart.......she can't decide if it's safe to eat or what will happen.  i have a stack of soft dish towels waiting for a chance to stop up the gap and put her in her carrier.  i am taking her to be spayed Monday so I need to get her back in her carrier soon.  what a tricky bit to achieve.  i have a friend who will help me get mia in to the clinic monday at 8 am so i need to get things organized for both Mia and my sake.

somehow the builder left little unseen corners open and well my goodness........so glad she's not under the washer/dryer or behind the frig.  looking for positives here.......she's disappeared again.  poor little newbie.........

stella comes in two hours......this is gonna be an interesting day.

in the meanwhile i finally painted two coats of deep blue sea paint onto the frame of a mirror.  it looks good, now the hard part.....i am creative in my brain but not so good at putting it on an actual item, so this is where it will get tricky.  i have some small brushes and plan to paint the design on the mirror.........stella is a painter so i'm going to ask her for advice while she's here.  i can't wait for it to be done and ready to hang in the master bath.

the other thing that helped me sleep? in the middle of the night i came in here for fresh water and spied things that told me she'd been exploring......a toy top fell from the shelves to the floor.  a small piece of displayed china was lying down, no longer resting on it's stand.......but the litter remains undisturbed ..........oh smart baby Mia

i'm so proud of her right now.........she ate a bit then went to use the big kitty litter box in the laundry room.......she's got her tiny paws on the rim and she's debating her return to safety.  can she get out of there and back to her cave before i can catch her?  probably so........i want to leave her to explore and feel more comfy and yet i need to get her in her carrier so she can go to the clinic......think i'll leave her be for now.  let her enjoy this sense of exploration and freedom.  i know how much i need time in the world when i've been closed in here........enjoy it Mia......she is so adorable, a real beauty......what did they used to call Audrey Hepburn?  think it was funny face.......that could be Mia's nickname.......she's elegant and fine and all tiny kitty.

so easy to love her.......thanks again for your encouragement!  so relieved to know where the location of her hideout.......that sounds like we're in an old western........her hideout up in the cupboard hills of georgia!!!!  xoxoox

I'm glad she came out to eat. Poor little dear. Good luck with getting her in the carrier. I'm sure you'll think of something. I love to hear your adventures with the little one. Love you.

mia found the back of the washer/dryer.......uhoh.....but when i returned home she had moved back to the kitchen hideout.......so i brought in a big empty folded up box and installed it as an entrance blocker her from going back there next time. i want to limit her escape places to one if at all possible. .........she had come out to gobble up her dinner and then flew back in the corner to save herself from "She Who Gives Kittens BATHS!".......that's my indian kitten name.......

boy was i wrong, she was BEHIND the washer/dryer.....little stinker, right now she's sitting on top of the litter box next to the washer/dryer.....yikes she clawing at my dress........little miss kittyclaws is in trouble but if i fuss she'll hide in the back of the appliances..........my children never hid like this..........or did they?

Really like hearing you talk about Mia. She has hit the kitty lottery for someone to love and care for her. In time you all will be a family. and oh what fun times it is to have a kitten. Everything is new and to explore and have fun with. Your mirror sounds very pretty and I hope that you can get Mia into her carrier to go to the clinic on Monday, if not they I hope will understand Our vet does...♥
