mia and rio and me oh my!
reporting to you live and direct from "my face is all wet!"
i kept trying to decide between a. and b.
a. going out to fix & wash the back patio
b. going to the lake swimming
it got later and later.......4 naps later, still in my pj's i thought give it up, who are you kidding, see if you can do any chores........
did the dishes, fed both kitties......trash to garage. fresh water for everybody.......i put a sweater on despite the heat and went outside. moved stuff and put it back.....washed it all down and then as i was wrapping up the hose i splishspashed my face and hair....but good! it's good to laugh!!!!!!!
let's talk new kitty update:
Linda brought Mia back from her procedure (spay) yesterday at 5:30. Linda said all had gone well, that little Mia was out of it, that her brother had also done well getting his procedure done for his new adoptive family. a young couple......ahhhh. they had adopted another tiny high risk kitten who died after several days of dropper feedings. the wife was so upset.......then he saw Mia's brother online and throught this little boy may be just right for their little family. his wife fell in love with this little boy, they named him Smoky......a happy new beginning for all.
a quick prayer for the kitty who crossed over the rainbow bridge........
Just want to share that Mia was anything but out of it.....she was fired up/feisty.....raring to rumble. Not what I expected at all. They tell you to keep the kitty sequestered for three days, give them wet food only....plenty of water. To keep them quiet......they provide pellet litter that turns to sawdust when wet......so the kitties can heal in a more gentle fashion after their surgery.
Mia was wired......not what I expected. Before Linda left we went over the paperwork and switched out carriers. We moved Mia into the same carrier I brought Rio home in.....with Rio's adoption blanket. Linda left without her carrier......i tried to catch her quick, but her phone went right to v.m. Hope to hear from her soon, at some point I can take her carrier back to her. She brought a material of thick foam to stuff into the hidey hole in the kitchen cupboard to keep Mia outta that spot.
Meanwhile Mia is tearing things up in the bathroom.......toilet paper all over the floor. Holes torn into the blanket, long threads pulled from the soft little towel......water bowl upended.........she is loaded for bear. Not all patients react alike I suppose.......but my goodness. When I went in there to see what all the ruckus was about she launched her little self at my legs and cried. She had a lot to tell me......so I swooped her up into my arms so she could tell me all about it!
little mia had a lot to say!!!!!! at some point she discovered something food lickable on my nightie and got busy licking with gusto.....this kitty is gonna keep me hoppin'! I don't know if i have the energy or what God will do about all of these goings on!
Mia was clawing at the door to get out, it sounded like she was launching her kitty body at the door to knock it down like a football player with a mission! She's looking more and more like a gray tabby.......she's already grown a lot or so it seems, she has a big appetite, she eats as much as full grown Rio eats. Doesn't seem she could eat that much but she does!
I wish you could hear her purrrrrrrrr, when i come in the room she immediately purrs like she's playing our song........it's irrisistible......ya gotta hold her, cuddle her.......she's a lovebucket of pint sized fur!
my next hurdle will be giving her a shot. Lord give me strength to do this......the injection for the vaccines goes in the scruff of her neck.....i'm going to wait a couple more days since she just got spayed and treated for rabies, then I have to be brave for Mia and Me......and do all things necessary in care of a new baby in the house.
the grass is growing tall and weedy, hope bruce comes soon to mow.....he said he'd call or come by yesterday, but no........we'll see. maybe tomorrow will be a good day for swimming? this could be way beyond my abilities just yet, but i really want to get in the water a few more times before the fall leaves turn to gold.
Rio is being relatively cool, a bit less hissy.......he sat curled up in the crook of my right arm for a very long time last night...claiming me as his very own human!
hugs, prayers in care of your daily needs and plans..........love, ruthie

well, it sounds like you have your hands full with little Mia. and am glad Rio still has you to snuggle up with and is less hissy.
Sometimes kitties react differently to being neutered. or Mia just is a powerhouse of personality. Glad her little brother was adopted. and prayer sent for the kitty that didn't make it. Just said goodbye to my Vato a few weeks ago. I think I won't get another kitty.
Your day good, you three enjoy your evening. ♥ and greenies
