mental wrong turns

my mind tricked me this morning and I took a mental wrong turn.

I made a plan of tasks today and I completed them...but the mental wrong

turn is making me feel aimless and kind of lost and in the vast unstructured

nature of life...

I will practice self compassion - and not be too hard on myself.

Very glad I go back to work tomorrow... I guess I need some structure...

I saved a lot of money today and put it in my black box...I'm pleased

at my savings yet my mentality right now is "What's it all for??"

I sent my friend the Abbess a care package today.

I really wish I could go back there, if just for a visit...

Maybe sometime next year...

I guess I can also remind myself that next year too I want to go to Scotland

to help www.treesforlife.org and visit my sister and niece in London.

Just writing about things makes me feel a little more grounded.

I struggle with the natural forces within me.. I know it's not that uncommon...

and I know it yields a kind of personal growth...I am grateful for it and all I have

in my life... I see my Doc tomorrow online after work.

That will be nice!

Sending peace and good vibes,

Mark

I woke up this morning after having such a good time with my family yesterday. I had no personal agenda when I woke.
I just wanted my life to have others to think about and work towards something about the day. But I went to get coffee
and I struggled with 'what to do.' I had to organize my day, some way, some how...

I also totally realize that we have to take care of the basics, every day. Breakfast, lunch, dinner....chores
and preparations. It's something we all have to take care of, and so feel in good company! :)

Keeping a list of activities helps when I get 'stuck' on something.

You're doing a wonderful job! taking care of you!

Whatever happened in the mental wrong turn, I hope it subsides as the day goes on and you can continue to count on your blessings. I still keep a mental note of a hospital sheet about “challenging negative thoughts” in my mind. Sometimes just acknowledging what the negative thought is about it helps me work through it rather than let it sit internally and wreak havoc. Whether I journal about it or talk about it in therapy depends on what it is... sometimes journaling about the negative things brings me down and I’d rather work through it with assistance.

Hope your day goes well. How about a walk? Try something new like a new recipe or something! I walked to Starbucks in Memphis this morning and I thought about you and your Starbucks runs! No matter where you are geographically it’s nice to have a comfort like that! I like indie coffee shops too when traveling but there weren’t any open near my hotel...
