Meds

T_T

Been trying to avoid going back on meds, but I think it might be a lost cause.  I just get so incredibly sad for absolutely no reason at all.

I try to control it .

Try to deny it.....but here I am sitting on the floor sobbing....again.

Nothing happened. No one said or did anything. I can't think of one reason to be unhappy, let alone feel this bad.

Something is definatly wrong with me. My brain and mind are defective somehow.

Though my therapist would tell me that saying (or thinking) of myself as "defective" is an unhelpful thought, and I should re-fram it to something more positive. But....i think defective sounds accurate.

I don't really want to take medication....but I hate feeling like this.  T_T

I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. I think it's really good that you are aware that something is not right and that you might need to try a medication. For depression, the SSRI's (Zoloft, Lexapro, Prozac, etc) help a lot of people. You'd start on a small dose, and it takes about a month to fully kick in. These types of medications aren't addicting, so even if one didn't work, you could try another one fairly easily.

I know many people that the SSRI's have really helped them to feel better and enjoy life again.

I would suggest telling your therapist about how you feel, with the crying and the sad feelings and thoughts.

I sure hope that you feel better soon. Please keep us updated on how you are doing!

I'm really sorry you're feeling this way. It's tough when these feelings come out of nowhere. Your emotions are valid, and it's okay to struggle.Your therapist's advice to avoid calling yourself "defective" is helpful. Instead, try thinking of it as "having a hard time," which is less harsh.

Feeling conflicted about medication is normal. Meds can be a helpful tool, like glasses for vision. It’s not a failure to need them. Feelings, even intense ones, are temporary.

If you decide to try medication, it means you're taking a step towards feeling better. Your well-being is the most important thing. ~ Hugs

Thank you everyone for the much needed hugs.

Sorry for the delayed response...I crawled into a dark hole for a few days...
But I made an appointment to see my Dr next week. I'm still so NOT thrilled with the idea of taking meds, but I think it is something I need to discuss with him.

I'm sacred though.
I hope I don't chicken out . I've done that (a few times) before.

I hope you are feeling a little better. Good for you for making an appointment with your doctor to discuss this.

I completely understand being scared or ambivalent about taking medication. I think I was scared first starting all of my meds, but once I started, it got better. It was the initial starting it that was the worst, for me. Anxiety about taking it.

But you are in complete control. You try it, or not. You take it, and it doesn't work? Stop taking it (if you just started it).

We are here for you, too, for support during this. You are not alone. Medication could really help you. Message me if you'd like. We want you to feel better!
