March 16

Well it's about 1:00pm - My day so far has been filled with sadness along with some good accomplishments.  The sad part is just me feeling so bad for the whole thing that happened in Japan.  I mean sometimes I sit here and feel sorry for myself and think I'm the only person in the world like this, and yet there are whole countries that feel this way.  This sadness is huge!  But besides the Japan incident, I have just read nothing but horrible news about evil horrible people.  I mean, I can understand nature destroying things, but I cannot for the life of me understand people doing evil things.  Personally I think I have got to stop reading the news.

Ok for the good stuff, I made a couple of phone calls today, so that is progress.  At least I am making the effort to connect with people.  The other thing I noticed and this just has to do with not smoking, is that I no longer have a callus on the bottom of my thumb.  I used to have one there because of my lighter, and now it's gone.  Just another plus to quitting smoking, no ugly looking hands or calluses.  One more plus is that I have been jogging more and more each day.  I got a little concerned the other day when I became dizzy and short breathed, but maybe that's because I was pushing it.  My goal is to jog the entire route that I take.  So far I'm almost at the half way point.  I've put on some weight since I quit, and now weigh about 145lbs.  I'd like to be back down where I was, but it's going to be a tough road.
Ok, that's enough for now!

The whole japan thing is really sad, i know where you are coming from with that one. as for the good stuff \"well done you :-) quitting smoking is huge but
your doing the best thing with the exercise too.

Nice one with making calls too, sometimes it lifts your mood to just talk to others. Sounds like your having a good day.

So glad you are on the phone again. I know how you feel...always picking up the phone and a smoke at the same time. The process of retraining your brain has started. Each day you will feel a little more comfortable doing things that you used to associate with smoking. The real test is dealing with strong emotions like anger or deperssion without lighting up....You CAN do this...in case you didn\'t notice, you ARE doing it.
Great jOB
