'managing' and putting your personal desires aside
part my healing, a real watershed moment, was when I was realizing
as I talked to my therapist, at the time (many years ago), was that I had
to be responsible for my feelings and that epiphany lent itself to realizing
that I had to be 'self responsible in life'...It took me many years to work on that
idea and working hard to be self disciplined - reaching out to finding commonality with others
being responsible and steadfast/reliable at work and so on. I had found it difficult to marry
the two worlds of 'going for what I liked in life' as well as feeling like I was covering
my responsibilities in life....but I found myself thinking about it tonight - and I realized
that 'managing' life means putting your personal desires aside at times and that 'idea'
lead me to find super commonality and respect for everyone in my life. I feel very grateful
and humble to have discovered this idea for myself...
It's grounding, significant and affirming.
Sending peace and yuletide wishes out to you guys and your loved ones.

Cherish those moments when it seems to fit and merge from before to now!
I love those *light bulb* moments where a concept which had been eluding me suddenly connects to an illumination I can navigate by.
My own epitome down this path came when I began to see my desires as mere preferences. My preferences are worth stating and going for, but they are seldom worth stopping the show over. I have since been amazed at how often compromising my preferences has led me to gratifying experiences and even new preferences. The Cosmos really are far more creative than my puny human brain ever can be. It pays to trust the unseen forces. They can see around corners we don't even know the existence of.
Thanks Mid, thanks Arfie. Merry Christmas Eve!
