making art

I used to paint and draw a lot. I never seemed to master any style well enough to be satisfied.
I tried different things and always looked for a quality I could never sense. I ultimately found it

more of a painful process than one which was fulfilling. Yet now as I am thinking about it - I think

it's probably more about the journey of discovery that you follow as you create throughout your life.

I think I tried to master so many styles that I thought I ought to be able to do before committing to my own

style. Appreciating the different ways things are done, emulating them and then finding your own style is one thing - perhaps. This is just what I am thinking about tonight. So many choices here at home for what I could do with my time...is it the same inscrutable unsuredness that has me wondering what the right thing for me to do with my time that I also faced with my creations? I feel like I am on to something.

It's so cool that you have this talent! I always wished I could be an artist. Maybe you were trying to hard to find a "style" that you never could just relax and have fun with it?

I learned a lot in an art therapy group I was a part of for 2 years. It’s really about the entire process, for me, and not the perfection of the final piece. I still do little stuff here and there, even if I’m the only one who sees it!
