Made it through another day.

I can't believe that another day has passed by.
Last night I tried to go to bed at 11pm. Turned off everything and read a little bit. Tried to go to sleep and couldn't. Turned the computer back on and then after awhile figured I was tired enough to try it again. But sleep didn't come til after 3am. I have had people tell me to just go to my doctor for something to help me sleep, but I don't want to. I've been lucky so far and just now am having a bit of trouble falling asleep. So, I think I'll keep trying it on my own.
Jeff's youngest daughter, Mandy, has been on facebook today really missing her Daddy. I so much want to reach out to her, but his ex wife has caused a lot of guilt for his girls and they don't want to get caught talking to me or it will upset their Mom. So, I will wait til they reach out to me. I do call them and leave messages on their phones just to let them know if they need anything, I'm here. They are 27 and 30, I figure they should live their life for themselves, but at this point their Mom still has a hold of them.
Its after 10:30pm and I think I will try it again tonight. Call it a early night and see if I can sleep. Wish me luck!

Good luck, I so hope you can sleep tonight. I know I feel better if I at least try to sleep through the night. Of course, I always wake up at least once or twice and wander the house. I don\'t know what I think will be there in the middle of the night, but I am still looking. Hugs to you, Dawn

I used to have more trouble getting to sleep, but it has improved. I was prescribed Xanax for occasional use (it is for anxiety, Linda had it also), and used a half dose from time to time. Have also used Melatonin. Take that regularly about two hours before or at bed time. Then your biological clock re-sets. These are both non-addictive, and do not seem to induce drowsiness the next day. They don\'t stop you from waking at 4:00 am, 5:00 am, and then what the heck getting up at 6:00 am - that is they do not knock you out. I stay away from the OTC sleeping tablets, some can have side effects. And no computer before bed. Read a really boring book (Meteorological Instruments will do it every time) or play sodoku (on the iPod). However, you cannot expect to be totally without sleep issues at this time. There is just too much going on. If you can figure out what you are specifically worrying about get up and do something about it.
In the last few weeks I have not taken any. Still wake up at 4 and 5, but I do not feel tired.
Ask your doctor ...

Hope this helps.
