made it through

Well here it is Jan already........ Brandon has been gone 6 months today. Where did the time go? it flew....
Thanksgiving and Christmas were a downer. But I expected that. Thanksgiving we decided to just stay home..... I made a ham and all the fixings. For Christmas we decided to stay in a hotel on Christmas eve. We brought our kitty Stewart with us. Was ok. We had pizza.
lets see what else is new.... The boyfriend proposed to me! ............ I did say yes! No date set....... he wants to get married this month. That wont happen....
They say not to make any big decisions the first year........ and I think they are right. I will know when the time is right.
Is it weird that when we do get married, I want to get married with Brandon there... meaning I'd get married in the cemetery. I haven't told Bob of my wishes yet, but I think he'd let me about do anything I want. (he's very laid back).
Oh our kitty......... he's 6 months old today too. Stewart......... what a kitty. I call him my baby kitty. I don't know what I'd do without this bundle of fur! he makes me laugh when I thought I'd never laugh again........... The day after Christmas I decided to potty train Stewart on the human toilet (litter box gags me)....... and he's done so good! I'll put a picture up of him on the crapper, he's giving me the stink eye tho....... apparently he likes his privacy too. haha makes me laugh everytime. after he gets done in the bathroom, he comes zooming out like a bat outta hell ........... god its funny! but then comes back for treats for being a 'good kitty' and using the 'human potty'...... it will be 3 weeks on friday that we got rid of that nasty litter box. Thank god we did this......... it's been a 'messy' experience and I wanted to give up a few times, but now it's so worth it! he never had an accident........ but he fell in once..... Thanks to citikitty and my amazing patient man beast........ stewart is toilet trained! all in less than 3 weeks time! smartest kitty ever! we told Bob's parents that we toilet trained the cat, they didn't believe us. just the look on peoples faces is priceless....
I hope everyone has been gentle with themselves and their hearts, I've missed you all!

Grateful to read your journal and to know that you got through the holidays as best as you could.

Congratulations on the engagement and you are so very wise to give yourself time as to when the wedding will be. One thing I have learned is that my son is with me wherever I am and most especially when I call on him to be. Wherever you do decide to be married I have no doubt that you will feel Brandon and that he\'ll have to be giving it all his \"stamp of approval\" in only the way that he could.

That is something else about your kitty and thank goodness no more littler boxes. What a smart one Stewart is and had to LOL over how he likes his \"privacy\" too. :)

Take care of your tender heart,
XO Joanie

What a positive journal. Congratulations on your engagement! I rather like the idea of the wedding with Brandon there. I hope your boyfriend is okay with it! But as Joanie said, Brandon will be there wherever you are.
What a smart kittie Stewart is! I tried to train on of our cats many years ago but was not successful. We didn\'t even try with Yuki. She does have her privacy in her litter \'house\'.
I so agree with you - don\'t make any big changes for a year.
So glad you made it through the holiday season - it is such an emotional time. I tend to play it by ear - every Christmas has been different.
Walking this road together.
Love and tight hugs,
Marlene

Loved your positive journal!! I can not even immagine how you would go about training a cat, to use a human toilet!!! Wish you had pictures to share, lol..

Congratulations, on the engagement. Speaking only for myself, I get depressed at the cemetary, when I go to my son\'s grave. I know he is not there & in Heaven, but I go out of respect for him & the life he lived. Even if you are married inside a church, home, bldg, etc....you will have your son with you & lots of pictures would complete the decor...Just a thought....

Congrats on the engagement and really glad to hear you survived the holidays. Holidays just stink. I can\'t believe you toilet trained Stewart -- never heard of that. I\'m glad you have him. Our three dogs keep me going most days with their unconditional love. Hugs, Laura
