lunch at sparrow cottage will commence momentito......

kids will be here any minute......ate some toast to settle my tummy down.
we're having chicken, pasta (ravioli with ricotta & baby spinach tossed in a basil pesto sauce), mashed potatoes, green beans, garlic rolls, corn on the cob, mini cream puffs with sweet berries or chocolate sauce (your choice)......and melon.......forgot to mention the melon......silly me.
why pasta and taters?  cause sunday is my cooking day........so i'll have leftovers for the week when i don't have the energy to cook.
made fresh sweet tea the other day........it's rained a lot here, so things are still mighty damp out. 
we might have to put beach towels on the outdoor chairs so we don't get our clothes wet.
hope maria likes her outdoor kitchen.  it has a child size frig, stove/oven combo, sink/dishwasher combo .....each "appliance" was a thrift store find at $5 each..........the table cost $2, the folding chair $2......the wicker stools came from an antique store closeout room in Monroe GA.....added home stitched child size pads to the two seats.  they are red and have bright yellow ties to hold them on.
it took me all day to make these two pads........alllllll day.  first time i really felt sincere admiration and horror that all clothes used to be handstitched..........mercy me.  no wonder people had so few clothes.  making them wore them out for weeks on end.  and i have a deeper appreciation for ready made wear too.
tired.......hope things go well, that it's fun and everything.  glad we have a lovely sunshiny day with a soft breeze.......i'm dressed all in white, comfy white jeans and a white lace top......with white tennies.  feel like a saint .....wonder how long it will be before i have to change clothes.....(not long, i'm not as suave and smooth as i used to be......i get the droppsies with regularity, but hey it's only cotton and i have machinery that handles dirt and spills. so whooooo cares?  not me, that's who!
clothes are in the dryer, got the bed made.......think i have the place fairly toddler proofed........what am i forgetting?  dunno......help is on the way so quit yer worrying ol lady!
