lost in the present
It’s weird. It’s the end of the day. My mind is on work and have been watching the news unwinding and relaxing. I started to look back at the day and work and thought there wasn’t really much to live for. A life of living alone and working, droning along. Yes thoughts of death and hopeful for it.
But then little things started to distract me. My mind sought out puzzles and questions and then I just got lost in the moment and became about the moment. I found the present... and that is enough for now:)

You watch the news to unwind and relax? ? ? Getting the talking heads out of my media diet was one of my early therapy homework assignments. That industry is a major manufacturer of stress and despair. Yea, it's important to know what's going on in the world, but when I started doing my own research, I was stunned to discover there is good news in the world.
Now I have the Don Henley song stuck in my head. . . "Kick 'em when they're up. Kick 'em when they're down. Kick 'em when they're up. Kick 'em all around. It's interesting when people die, give us dirty laundry."
For what it's worth:
I like to work jigsaw puzzles to help me channel my unfocused questioning. It helps me resist the urge to force solutions.
I try not to watch the news that much. You learn something new and disturbing each day. However I want to keep current with events.
yeah, I can keep the news on in the background all day - and feel like it's my connection to the world.
I like 'keeping in touch' but it's a lot of crap too. And we're worth better to serve ourselves up some good
helpings of things that we like and are good for us! :)
I ESPECIALLY like to do my own research for the tragically bad news. The talking heads only hype the parts that promote broadcast ratings. Those are not the parts which promote healing hopes. Healing hopes don't sell ad space.
