Losing More Weight

I weighed myself today and I'm all the way down to 228.5 pounds! I started this journey this May at 252 pounds, and so I'm almost down 25 pounds now. I'm so glad! I've been eating when I'm hungry and not emotionally or boredom eating anymore. When I lived with my stepdad, I would wander into the kitchen when I was bored, and that led me to gain a bunch of weight. I've learned portion sizes, and what to eat. I have one good meal a day, dinner, which is baked chicken with veggies most nights (although tonight it was with mac and cheese since I'm low on calories) and then breakfast is another piece of baked chicken with yogurt. I must say that Spark People has been so helpful, telling me how many calories I need to eat, as well as having a food tracker so I can count my calories. It also has a recommended fitness plan so I can get into shape better. I've been following everything religiously, and it's showing. I couldn't be happier. I can't wait until I get under 225 (hopefully soon) and then I will be at my lowest weight since I got out of college. I used to weigh 280 pounds, so I'm doing great on losing weight. I lost 55 pounds a couple years back (from 280 to 225) but I managed to gain a bunch of it back. Although 15 pounds never came back, which made me happy. 2 Mays ago I was 267, so that's been my starting point. I have another blog I need to update with my progress. I took some before pictures, and I was thinking of taking some after ones soon, just so I can see how I've changed. I know it's been good.
Today my mood was great. I had to get to Target to pick up my pills, so I walked halfway there. I got over a mile in today of walking. My ankle is still hurting, but it's not too bad. I can still walk fine. I needed that walk today just to clear my head. I've been thinking about talking to my psych about quitting the Neurontin and just taking the Depakote. I didn't have a problem before, it's just that I was still getting mood swings and the stupid doctor didn't want to listen to me. I know that I can take 750mg a day (250 in the am and 500 at night) without having the liver problems, so I want to be able to do that. He wanted me to double my dose back to 1,000mg where I was having the liver problems. He didn't even check the labs he had me do. I'm really sick of him and I want to see another doctor. There might be another doctor on staff who listens like Dr. Miller does. Geo is so lucky that he gets to see Dr. Miller and everything. Although we found out today that he won't be able to see his GP until January, and his insurance is going to end with the HMO he's with now. He needs to get in Open Enrollment and change his insurance. I told him he better do it fast, since Open Enrollment is this month. I hope it's not over yet. He needs to get new insurance.
Stress today was low... No anxiety, either. I took the bus to Target, and while I was there I had one of their spinach and artichoke sandwiches. It was very yummy, but tiny. It's okay, since I wasn't that hungry anyway. On my way home I stopped at the gym for my strength training since it's that day of the week. I just feel very good about today. I think it's because my legs are getting better. I had some time this morning when my legs weren't shaking at all. I'm glad. That means the medication I got last night in the ER is working. I was supposed to take a pill this morning for it, but I didn't wake up until 2 to go get my pills, so my legs are shaking again. I took the pill when I was waiting for the bus on the way home, so I'm going to take another tonight like I should, and my legs should stop shaking after a while.
Food today was bad.. I'm low on calories again, since I slept so late I wasn't that hungry. I woke up in the middle of the morning and couldn't fall back asleep, so I took a klonopin and knocked myself back out. I was up for 2 hours in the middle of my sleep, so I didn't sleep that well. I slept better than I did the night before last, so that's good at least. I hope I get some good sleep tonight since I have to be up early tomorrow morning to get to work. Well, I have to be up around 11am to get ready. That means no klonopin if I wake up early tomorrow, so that sucks. Oh well. Maybe I can just go into work early and get it over with. Not like I have a problem at work, but whatever. I just want to get home while I'm at work so I can rest, but I need to get used to not being able to sleep whenever I want. That's what you have to do when you have a real job and a life, which is something I want soon.

A little over 3 pounds to get back to your college weight! I bet you might see that by years end of soon after. It is good to read that the legs are not shaking as bad anymore. That must have been absolutely horrid!
Have a wonderful weekend!
