Looking forward to the new month!

The month of September has been very stressful.  I'm looking forward to a new month and hopefully things will settle down.  Avoid stress is what the Doctor's always say.  How does one do that?!  I don't look for it!
It was stressful that my mother would need surgery to remove a GIST (tumor on her stomach) and 10% of her stomach.  But it went very well.  My siblings and I took turns (we all live in different states) and I really enjoyed helping her during her recovery.  It was major surgery but she did not have any issues and is healing quite nicely.  I missed 6 work days for that.
I was organizing a fundraiser for a sweet friend who lost her battle with cancer due to complications caused by a bacteria (very rare infection) on her port.  Very sad.  She lived until 4 days after the fundraiser.  The money will help her kids who are in the process of selling the house to a new start.  They were behind in the mortgage because my friend had not been able to work since mid-April.
Then I returned and had to report for Jury Duty.  Talk about horrible timing.  Until last week I had not worked a full 40 hour week.  And the only way I made it to 40 is because after 1 1/2 days of Jury Duty selection I went to work and stayed late.  The process is not over yet.  I'm expecting an individual interview sometime this week or next.  I really don't think I can handle the stress right now and I'm really concerned about my health.  I don't usually have stomach issues but last week I sure was.
My back has been killing me but the new Chiropractor has helped me so much.  All of the stress is in my lower back and neck.  If I could have some stress free time I know I would feel better.  I used to go on long walks when I felt stressed but now I'm so out of shape I have to work my way back up.  With going to the Chiropractor 3 times a week, it doesn't give much time for other things.  I'm hoping to reduce my number of weekly visits soon.  I really, really want to start my exercise routine that I've been missing while I've been sick.
Baby steps!
We were planning on a short cruise the end of October but now it will depend on this trial.  I'm trying not to think about it because it stresses me so!
I'm nervous traveling with Xyrem too.  But it is necessary for me to get a good night's sleep.  I saw first hand what it was doing to my health when I was tired all of the time and sleeping a lot but my body did not recognize I slept since it was not a deep sleep.  I wonder how many years of my life I've lost as a result.  They say if you don't get enough sleep it will reduce your life expectancy.
