Looking back

It has been quite a while since I have spent any time on this site. Today I read back through all of my postings over the past 2 1/2 years since Jeff passed.....
If I could tell anyone who is just starting the journey of loss, I would tell them that it does get better and easier.... I promise.
I would never say that you will miss them less, long for their touch less..... but you realize that they brought so much to your life that now helps you get through your days, move forward and continue the journey you are to be on. They helped mold you into the strong person you are today and you still will feel them, see them, hear them as your life moves forward. I promise.
If you are in your first few hours, days, even months, I know that the previous statement seems impossible. Unimaginable. Unreachable. But I promise... if you have faith, it will be so.
Each day has brought me joy....each accomplishment of myself, a child, a grandchild, I know Jeff is still a part of it all.
I still live alone. My children are growing and off to live their lives. I am on my own and enjoy family and friends. After 2 1/2 years without Jeff, I think I could enjoy the company of another person now and I wouldn't fee like I was replacing him.
Looking back, I never thought I would be at peace. But I am. And I hope it comes to all of you who are just beginning this journey.
Peace,
Liz
