Look-a-Like

Today my husband and I went to see "Tammy", the new Melissa McCarthy movie. I am a huge fan, Cassi was as well. We got there early (we are always early) and got seats about 3 rows down from the top. I was watching people as they came in and all of a sudden I lost my breath. A couple had come in with, I assume, their daughter. They took seats close to the screen. The child, at that distance, looked exactly like Cassi at maybe 12 years old...same body structure, same dark, straight hair...she was even wearing a red shirt that looked like one Cassi had. My husband noticed as well and agreed with me. I couldn't take my eyes off her and started crying quietly...It would have been awesome to be seeing the new Melissa McCarthy movie with my baby. I didn't have any tissue in my purse so I asked my husband to go get some paper towels for me...the tears were really flowing at that point. My mind was racing, I wanted to run down to them, explain myself, get a closer look at the girl...maybe even ask her mom to take a picture of me with her. I didn't do it...I am sure they would have thought I was a crazy woman about to kidnap their child and either they would have left to get away from me or have me thrown out. As hard as I was crying, I knew it would be worse as I tried to explain my story, so I stayed in my seat. The movie was wonderful, it made me happy and I felt maybe the sighting of a Cassi look-a-like was a wink...a huge wink...maybe Cassi was there with me. When the movie ended and the credits started rolling I ran, not kidding, ran down the stadium steps nearly tripping several times. I stopped just barely behind them and beside them and pretended I was watching the credits roll. They had not gotten up yet. As I inched closer I saw, up close, that she looked nothing like Cassi...but I believe that somehow, Cassi, knowing how bittersweet it was to be seeing the movie without her, somehow tricked my eyes, as well as her Daddy's into "seeing" her...I love my baby so much.

Hugs, dear Gina. I cannot honestly say that I have ever had an experience such as yours, but I do understand the longing. I am happy that you and your husband enjoyed the movie. Always good to get a night out!

I have also seen Alex look a likes It always takes my breath away and brings tears to my eyes. Honestly, Jared (Alex\'s fraternal twin) has done that to us many times. As Jared ages, gains weight, buzzed his hair he often \"looks\" like Alex. It is sometimes hard..and other times I am so glad to \"see him\". Love and gentle hugs...Karen

I\'ve seen many \"look-a-likes\" and most of the time I walk right up to them, hug them (with permission) and tell them about Kala. We usually both end up crying! But it\'s healing tears~~

Cassi no doubt wanted to make sure you knew she was there watching the movie with you!

Want to go see it myself!

Love you!!
Love to Cassi!

There have been times at work when I\'ve been walking behind one of the men that they have they same build Jeremy had. I almost want to reach out but I\'ve stopped myself. Once I caught the smell of his favorite cologne in the store and started followed a young man. Haha. I think that was very early on though. We understand. It won\'t be your last time. :)

What a gift of consolation Cassi gave you as she wanted you to have this time with your husband and doing something that you enjoy.

I know that our children give us these gifts along the way and when I need to feel my son I look at pix of Brad Pitt. :) Honestly, there are some of him that take my breath away because they look SO much alike.

You were given what you needed and as the others have said it will not be the last time.

Loving care dear Gina,

Whenever I see a young man of Jared\'s stature, coloring, hair, I tend to envision in my mind Jared\'s face on that person. Somehow, it brings me comfort as crazy as that may sound.
I also think that the young girl you encountered at the theater was a \"hello\" from Cassi.
Big tight hugs,

Gina, I believe these are winks from our kids too. I followed a young man in a store shortly after Ed passed. It hurt but it was good to \"see\" him. ColleenF, Jeff\'s mom helped me with these sightings. She said \"they are visits, not keeps\". Love and peace, Linda
