Longest Walk Since LA
Today I went on my longest walk since I got back from LA- 2.5 miles. I did it in 1 hour 23 minutes, so a bit over 30 minutes a mile. I did it without my mp3 player, so that's an acceptable time. I need to charge it, and the charger is packed in my luggage with stuff from LA that I haven't unpacked yet. I know I need to unpack, but I'm just lazy. Ann, I read your comment about the klonopin, and yes the doctors know I take it for sleep. I have tried many sleeping pills (Ambien, Sonata, Restoril, and trazadone to name a few) and none of them work on me like klonopin does. It's rare that I have to take more than 4 milligrams in a night, and I don't take it every night. I know it's nothing to be messed around with. My friend Andrea had her life wrecked by getting dependent on klonopin, and so I'm very careful with it. I was put on it for anxiety as well, but I use it for sleep now since my anxiety is pretty well under control. I'm still on the trazadone for depression, but it doesn't put me to sleep, even taking the max dose of 300mg. I'm just a hard person to get to sleep when my body doesn't want to sleep. Klonopin is my last measure. Thanks for looking out for me, Ann :)
I'm trying to get my walking back up to my pre-LA distances. My times are better, but I don't walk as far. I don't know if it's a lack of motivation or just injuries from walking in LA or whatever, but I just don't walk as far. On Saturday my hips were hurting, so I took it easy. Today I started blanking out when I was walking and it looked like the ground was moving when I was standing still, so I knew it was time for me to be getting home. I was already almost home when that started happening. Or should I say that I noticed it, since I don't really stay still except when I sit on a bus bench or I'm at a stoplight. I was at a stoplight when I noticed it. I did stop at a bus bench today for a couple minutes, but that was it. I don't know how I was feeling when I was there. I don't remember much except that I sat for about 3 minutes and then got up and started walking again.
Today was my day off work, and I might take tomorrow off too. I've been feeling sick in the mornings, and I am probably going to take NyQuil tonight to help me sleep and make me feel better when I wake up so hopefully I can make it into work. I need to tell them that I can't be working like I have been since it's too much for me. Also I have to tell them that I need to wait on getting a job since I'm not dependable right now. There's a reason I'm on disability and not working full time like a regular person, and this is the time when I have the most trouble. I'm just worried that when I do get a job and next year comes around if I'm going to be dependable or not. I can't worry too much ahead, though. I need to worry about getting myself through this and coming out the other end doing well. I worry too much about things I can't control.
Mood today was okay. I didn't do much besides my walk and cook dinner. I guess I wasn't feeling that well since I wanted to use my free Papa John's coupon for pizza for dinner. I didn't feel like cooking, but I did anyway. I did look up how much it would cost to get my pizza, and it would be $3 or so for the delivery charge. That's not too bad, but I wanted to save it for a day when I really felt bad and didn't want to cook. I might use it on Friday depending on how I feel. I just want to stay in bed all day lately. I know that's the depression taking hold of me. I need to fight it, but I can't seem to get into work and I have been going for my walks and keeping up with exercise and such. I'm even eating well, despite not wanting to cook. Tonight I made chicken and pesto cream sauce over spaghetti. I wanted to do it with penne, but we didn't have any and we can't go to the store until Friday when Geo gets the car. I just have to figure out dinners until then.
Food today was good... I was in my calorie range and everything. I thought I was going to be super low since I didn't eat anything in the middle of the day, but I had some ramen and that made up for it. The way I eat ramen is with frozen veggies, some Tabasco sauce and lime juice. It's the Mexican way of eating it lol. At least the hot sauce and lime juice part. We Mexicans love everything hot and sour, and you can add sweet and salty to that combo too. I love watermelon with chili, lemon and salt. It's just what I grew up eating, so that's what I crave sometimes. Yeah, I'm weird, but I'm okay with that.

The earth moving when you are standing still, that\'s not good. Next appt. tell your doctor. You may have vertigo or it\'s a reaction to a medication. good luck with that.
You are doing great with your walking think of it this way.. i\'m walking going faster, i will work on going longer. you use more energy to go faster i think. let me know if you agree.
Have a great week.
that doesnt sound good about the ground moving, i think that should be checked out, is this the first time? an hour and 23 minutes is a long time to walk. i know you want to do the 2.5 miles, but i think right now 1 hour is plenty of time, that is a lot of walking. since you had the episode of feeling the earth move towards the end, it could be your body telling you you have done to much. it is frustrating and i know you want to do it, but you will, just give yourself time. thanks for clearing up the klonopin topic, i was just worried.
Ditto on the earth moving! We worry about you! Were you hydrated? You might consider carrying a small water bottle with you.
Have a fun weekend!
