Lonely & Isolated...
Hi all, I haven't written in a while, been very sad, could use some ideas.
Lately I've been ok on my new meds, not depressed anymore, but I'm still home alone all day with no one to talk to. Now with the weather being so bad, the entire summer here in NYC has been horrible and miserable, giving me no incentive to even go out. I do drive, but I don't need anything to go out and buy. Have no one to visit, small family and most friends I had are gone.
I figured out what the problem is--ok I'm not depressed anymore due to new med, but there's no stimulation at all being inside the house with no one to talk to. I don't like doing Zoom activities. Yes I watch movies and read a bit and clean, but it's getting to me, the other day I almost cried up a storm. Weather is so bad this entire summer I rarely go out now. My daughter lives here too but doesn't get home until 7:30pm 3 nights a week. Other 2 days she's home around 5pm, but then she goes in her room and winds down a bit before she's out and about.
How are you all keeping your sanity?????

Hi Maria, Glad meds are working. No volunteer jobs??? I would think there would be alot now. What about a part time job???. Meet up groups. This one lady on here goes everywhere. Amazing pictures from her.

Ps. It is soo f*cking humid. You have to get out first thing in the morning & short intervals outside after that. Keep hydrated!
Thanks Brooke, but a lot of things here are still closed, and the volunteer jobs are mostly virtual still. Meet up groups near me are almost all virtual. I think the Humidity is getting to me too!!!
Since you do drive you can go to an indoor mall or just a Walmart or target and just walk around, you don't have to buy anything and like Brook said maybe a part time job in a store would help, if nothing else even if it didn't pay much it would get you out and give you someone to talk to. I know you have the cleaning job on Friday but you can't do that forever. Are you allowed pets in your condo?? That might help, I talk to my dog all the time, lol

PS, you could also just drive to the beach and watch and listen to the ocean, it clams me down, juts a thought
What about a trip to the Casino??? Just take as much as you can lose, but I hope you win. Our Casinos just opened a couple of weeks ago with capacity & other restrictions. I am not ready to go yet, no money. Need to get my floors & gutters done this fall. Jean is right. I talk to Henri all day long. Stay strong! Hugs! Brooke & Henri
Thanks to both of you, yes I'm going to try harder to get myself out more. This weather so darn hot and humid is what's making it worse for me. I like the Casino idea. I'll have to check and see how it is and what there restrictions are. There's one not too terribly far from me, on the other end of Queens,I could drive there.
