Loan Forgiveness

Today I sent off in the mail my application for my loans to be forgiven since I'm disabled. I'm in deep in student loans, so I figured I would just try and see what I could get. It turn out 2 of my loans are forgivable - One for $29,000 and another for $18,000. That would leave me with maybe just $20,000 left... I might actually be able to pay that off. My loan payments when I was working was $500 a month for the $60,000 that I owed. When I lost my job at the airline I couldn't pay them anymore since I wasn't making enough money. I have been horribly lazy about taking care of my loans... I'm lucky that they haven't garnished my disability check. I'm proud of myself for taking care of my loans and got my head out of the sand. I'm just so excited about having that much money forgiven. I just have to stay disabled for 3 more years. I'm nowhere near being able to handle a job... I can't even consistently volunteer. But I'm stable on my meds... I just need to get myself together and figure out what I want to do with my life. I have a long journey ahead of me... I just need to find a path.
