living through
I note with disappointment that 3 months out from surgery, the pain in my side has not completely resolved. I'm not getting the temperature changes anymore and the pain seems to have shifted somewhat being focused more in my groin. I still have those days when it radiates down the leg and makes my life miserable.
I also more frequently have days when my stomach responds to something I eat with hours of excrutiating moan-n-groan roll-on-the-floor pain. Needless to say my appetite is down significantly. Cant say the same for my weight.
I contracted the Chikungunya virus (chik-v). My son got it first and after a few days I roughed him up a bit when he complained how his joints hurt and it was hard to walk etc. I said "you are just getting a touch of what I have been going through for 5 years so suck it up and stop whining!" (crash talking)
A week later I had to apologize to my son. I read that Chikungunya is an African word that literally means "that which bends up". OMG chik-v literally bends people up. We have been hit hard by the outbreak so for the last month or so people are just hobbling about looking pathetic.
When my chik-v attack started I thought it was CFS pain but boy did it intensify. After a few days when I started running a 103 degree temperature I realized I was not in the CFS zone. Boy it hurt! I've been recovered 2 weeks now but still the joint pain is tough. In particular, for some reason chik-v causes the soles of your feet to hurt.. walking is no party these days.
So I'm back to back pain, wrist pain, ankle pain, hip pain, groin pain .. oh bliss.
I have been pushing myself hard at work. Walked right back into 2 major crises that developed while I was out and have been running ragged just trying to keep my business afloat. Seems I get 2 new crises in addition each week. To add to it I've ticked my boss off again (don't know how/why) and she is making my life miserable. I am stretched paper thin and stress is through the roof. Wish I could make a ton of money and just be able to stop working.
Had a long weekend and again there was no holiday for me, I spent the weekend wracked in pain, weak, disoriented, dizzy, nauseated, generally feeling crappy and a bit worried. At times like these the only description I have for what I feel is I feel like I'm about to have a stroke. Combined with heart palpitations and stuff that feels like sleep apnea, except I'm awake (when you stop breathing and gasp through it) , I was one very worried puppy last weekend.
You know what? I am tired of being sick. So I've just been trying to live through it. I'm taking the pain as it comes, dealing with the setbacks one day at a time and just putting one foot in front of the other. I am trying to get out of the bed more, do stuff with my son (like board games).
I decided not to walk around looking like an old hag anymore so my newest hobby is wig making. While my hair grows in, I get to try a variety of new looks (I think maybe the wine red wig is the one that got to my boss).
Trying.. to just live at little bit more each day .. to count my blessings each day .. to learn how to bend with the wind and not get torn apart. Learning .. to live through it.
Blessings my DS friends.

One day at a time is the only way to do it, Max!! Wise conclusions you have drawn.
I\'m so sorry about that chic-v virus. Sounds hideous! I never run a fever with CFS. I would know for sure, as you did, that something else was at play if that happened to me. Is this virus anything like the enterovirus runinning around here that\'s got a ton of our kids, even babies, in the hospital? They, of course say they have no idea why this affects only children. I do...but I\'ll keep that to myself. I do hope you and your son both get complete relief from the pain associated with this.
Glad to hear from you, Max. Just keep prayin. I will too! We\'ll be ok! xoxo
Aww so sorry you are doing it hard and copped a rotten virus just to add a little extra something when you didn\'t need it.Hope your darling boy is better.Yoh haven\'t had an easy year with your surgery and a lot of continued work stress. However I love your inner strength , your perseverance to stay on top and not let it swallow you up.I could sure learn a thing or two from you, Jamaican girl.I think 2014 has been a difficult year for a lot of us.I pray that 2015 will be wonderful. Our year of positive change and powerful healing, bringing much joy to our hearts. We deserve a break. Please God can we have one.Love the wig trip, and fun to change your color.Never been a redhead.Right now I\'m a part blond and a grey regrowth because I\'m as crook as a chook, and can\'t make it to the salon.I am at my worst and trying not to let the fear in.The fear that I could be here on this bed forever. What is going on??? Keep pacing Max you\'re doing a wonderful job.Rainbow hugs xo
