living life on my own - do you find purpose?

I live on my own and at times it's pretty hard. I feel like I ought to be able

to live on my own - and it's my choice to do it - but I guess rather than feel upset

or confused as to why I can't do it so well - maybe I should just take it for what it is..

sometimes I am grateful for the retreat into solitude and other times I find that it sucks

my energy and motivation to push forward on my life when i live in a vacuum. Then when I am

with others, as grateful as I can be, I also lose all sense of myself and understanding of how to take

care of my life. It reminds me of a song I heard on the loudspeaker at work today.. "I don't know who I am without

you...all I know is that I should." I love my family, I love my friends, I love my aunts and Uncles. I don't know why

I feel at such a loss though to deal with my life, when on my own. I seem to refrain from going out with others...though I love them...eh enough whining.

Big squishy hug sweetie..... We are social animals by nature..... What about getting a pet?..... Ferrets are great for apartments because they're quiet

They are little social butterflies and get very attached to their owners however they're okay if you spend a night or two with your family

They can be trained to use blue pads for potty and they're a riot..... As you know I housesit Fudgie and he's a sweetie

Big squishy hug sweetie...… Support while you work it through...… Sometimes though I think you are tooooooo hard on you...… xo

thanks Jan.
Fudgie sounds delightful. I think I might go the Petsmart and adopt a cat.
First my brother is having me take care of his dog for a few weeks but then I'll be freed up
to get the cat after that. Once the kitty is here - no having Nina the dog visit. :) It would make for dog and cat fire works!!

I have Rascal and Dan has a cat..... Unless it's an unfriendly dog they can do okay together.... I just kept Rascal on a leash for the first little while... Now they're buddies..... Cozette is the boss....ha

WHERE'S MY PERFECT WAY OF LIFE!!!!

I get lonesome when I live alone and I get lost in other people's yaddahs when I live with other people. Damned if I do and damned if I don't, no matter how often I *should* myself. Oh for the love of balance. . .

Keep puzzling, my fellow questioner.

thanks arfie! I think that's just it - 'take it for what it is' sometimes it will make me happy sometimes it won't - I feel feel so dumbstruck about all these issues that pop up - I guess I will just take it as part of 'normal' - I asked a friend how her family was - and she said "Sometimes they're great and sometimes they're annoying - and then they're great again." LOL

Thanks Jan! I signed up for the adoptions list at the local Petsmart. I will check those out when they start coming to my inbox. :)

Yes! A pet! I would feel exactly as you described above if I didn’t know the cat was around. It’s normal to feel that way from time to time. As soon as I started typing this Bella jumped into my lap. They know.

Until then though, and I’ve lived completely solo at times, home projects keep me occupied. Organizing and tweaking decor and printing photos.....projects.
