Living alone - how is everyone doing it?

Living alone - how is everyone doing it?  At times, it sucks.  Other times, it's okay.  It all depends on my mood.  When I miss Smokey the most, it is usually when I am home alone.  It feel it so intensely.  Today I am alone but have been busy on the computer looking for jobs, fixing my my recipes as I have a binder full of them and playing Trivial Pursuit.  I just had lunch and it is almost 1:30 p.m. already.
The job;  in the last two days I have had two telephone job interviews.  If I pass this, I could make it in to an actual in person interview.  I am not holding my breath but am hoping I make it.
Lisa is coming here tomorrow to get all her things out of my storage locker.  When her and Grant were living in the one bedroom apartment, I let them use my storage locker as I did not need it.  Now they have a 3 bedroom townhouse, so they can get their stuff out of my storage locker.  I need it now to put some suit cases and other stuff in it.  I want my apartment to look as spacious as possible for a small 650 sq.ft.  one bedroom apartment can look.
I am registered on two free online dating sites.  Some say they are free but the catch is they are free to register but if you want to make email contact, it costs.  I have not had that many and the ones I have had we are just emailing back and forth.  Most of the guys are in the USA and I am in Canada so there is no chance of us meeting.  Its okay.  I am still dating Dave.  I just don't want to settle with anyone.  Dave is a good man that is true but he does have some things that I can't live with so I am looking.
It's being alone.  Without Dave in my life, most days I would be alone by myself.  I look forward when he comes to my place after work.  He gets me out of the apartment.  Otherwise, I think I would become a hermit in this place.  My brother Don used to come over every day around noon.  Now he is busy with other things in his own life.  I used to babysit so much when Lisa and Grant lived in Richmond.  Now I hardly babysit at all.  I get to babysit Tyson at my place this Friday and am looking forward to it greatly.  Without Dave, Don and Lisa in my life, I would be a hermit.  This week I just could not leave my place.  I am thankful for Dave who comes here after work and we spend the evening together.  It is nice.
When a person loses their spouse and the love of their life, it is wonderful to have other people in your life to help you get out of the house and focus outside yourself.  I love my grandson so much.  He gives me so much joy.
I only have to buy 3 Christmas presents this year for Don, Dave and Tyson.  Lisa and I agreed not to buy for each other just Tyson.  I am taking Lisa out for lunch at the White Spot for her birthday on Dec. 18th.
I cashed in my Airmiles Points for a $50 gift card for HBC which is for Zellers, The Bay and Home Outfitters.  I am hoping to get it before Lisa's birthday so I can buy Tyson his Christmas present at Zellers.  Gift Cards are a wonderful thing.  I am 55 and don't need much just the pleasure of going shopping.  I love gift cards for myself.  It is not the actual thing I buy but the pleasure to be able to go shopping with a friend of mine.  It is fun.  We have so much fun together and tease ease other.  We have a ball.  It's one of those things I love to do.  Without jobs for either of us, we don't get to do it as much as we used to.  I hope things get better for both of us.
I don't want to put on the TV. I like computers.  There are so many things you can research on them, email friends (my DS buddies), type letters (I enjoy it), find recipes etc.  Just a click of the button and you are in contact with many people.  It is a social thing without talking to anyone on the phone.  In my twenties, the phone was attached to my ear.  Now it is the computer.  Either way, we are in the electronic age with so many toys out there it drives me nuts.  How can one keep up?  You just ask a child and they can teach you that is for sure.
I am ready to type a manual out so I will say good bye until we talk again on DS from Diane B.

Diane...the other night I went to bed and my feet were cold and it made me think of Buddy and how I use to put my cold feet on his legs and he would rub them to help me get them warm...he never complained. As I laid alone in my bed I cried like I haven\'t cried for a while. Those deep gasps of air and my nose got stuffed up and when I finished I felt exhausted. Last night I went to bed and had a long talk with him instead of crying...starting out with \"Why did you have to go and die?\" It is tough being alone. I am lucky enough to have a job so that takes up a lot of time. I hope you get a in person interview and you get a job. I think a job will help with the lonliness...Hugs, llen
