Little nervous
Today I start my call center job. The person that hired me said that they would be.teaching me in baby steps I certainly hope so. One call center I worked at had some weird function thing that no one bothered to explain to me called a hashtag.... Towards the end of the training everyone laughed at me when I asked a question and I didn't move forward after the training. I tried another call center two years later and a graph that didn't make any sense was presented. I freaked out and quit. This time I'm not quitting and I'm asking more questions. I really hope that I can get a remote role after a while so I can go anywhere in the US. I have heard however some call center jobs aren't fully remote and they want you to live locally... It seems from all of the remote positions that were on Indeed and LinkedIn said there were just a few states that aren't allowed. Conduent seems to be an average call center to work at I've read mixed reviews on Glassdoor. Better reviews than Concentrix. I'm looking at more and more things to be grateful for. Change can be hard I'm not so sure if I am adapting healthily. I visited my best friend Jay in Maine, he is doing good he is on antipsychotics, got into housing, sober and has a personal drug counselor. He sent me a video series about spiritually that is amazing. I'm still slowly learning Spanish, I'm still watching educational videos from the library and I'm not finished with that Decision book by Chip Heath yet. Anyhow, it says to prepare to be wrong.... I'm having a hard time tossing that idea around and being positive at the same time. Thank you for reading this

Fingers crossed and sending you hugs. You are one smart person and yes, just ask the questions that need to be asked. Anyone who laughs at another human being like this is really mean spirited. It is not about you, their laughter is about something lacking within themselves. Please know I am rooting for you.
But you know what? This training time is when you get to observe and listen to the presenters and to the culture of the organization. We are better off being wise and paying attention than getting stuck in a job with a negative culture.
So my husband is low low low vision. The place where he worked had CEOs that didn't care and they purchased a call center whose software was not compatible with the software visually impaired people use. So an organization, a non-profit, for people with visual impairments didn't give a you know what that people using this software, needing this software to do the job, then could not get out of training and were not hired. Not a good corporate culture, huh?
Good luck at your new job! Yes, definitely ask questions as you go, and don't be hard on yourself if you don't catch on immediately. You're right that change is difficult! To me, preparing to be wrong means being careful not to be overconfident about our decisions, and planning for both good and bad outcomes. I believe it's possible to be positive and prepared at the same time. Hope you'll keep us posted! With your initiative and desire to learn, I think you're going to do great! Hugs.

You wondered about """prepare to be wrong""" well have you ever heard of ASK: Ask, Seek, Know through faith you will have your answer. You mentioned your other call positions went wrong, You Have Learned Through Mistakes To Try Something New, again, prepared to be wrong.
I think too, acceptance and adaption of what you can do and what you can't do is a huge factor in preparing to be wrong, again from what you wrote you are doing this as well as you transform yourself into the person you want to become <3

I hope the first day went well. You should be proud of yourself for putting in the effort to set this up! Hopefully there are some helpful co workers who can guide. Seems crazy to hire someone and not have an effective training plan. Remember that everyone there had a first day. Be patient with yourself, we all learn at different rates.
