Lisa's Birthday and stuff
First I want to thank you for all the love and prayers for Lorraine. She has had several tests and they have mostly ruled out the fact that the spots on her lungs are metastases as they have found no cancer anywhere else. But they don't know what is in her lungs so she will have to have a lung biopsy. As it is, she has little stamina (not normal for her as she is usually a little dynamo). so keep those prayers coming.
Today Lisa would be an earthly 41 years old. I find it so hard to be here without her. I lit a candle at midnight and sat alone and wrote her a letter. I reminisced about some ot the things that made us laugh. Today, I decided to have a 'normal' day. I went with friends to a neigbourhood presentation about the future of our community. They had some university students do a project with people in the area asking what they thought was important for the area. It was a good presentation. Then we went to the pub and toasted Lisa.
I think Lisa has been close to me for the last while. I have been reluctant to tell many people about the fact that she comes to say hi as a bird. I told you about the hawk that buzzed Lorraine's little back yard. A couple days later, we went for a short walk - she needed fresh air. First we heard a flock of noisy sparrows. She commented that she had never seen birds there. Then a couple flew down between us. Lorraine was shocked "I've never seen anything like it!" Then, on our way back, we heard a bird and stopped to listen. It was a black bird and it sounded like it was talking - I heard 'mama" three or four times. We looked closely trying to figure out what kind of bird it was. After awhile it started crowing - it was a young crow! Today as my neigbours and I were walking to the meeting, we heard a woodpecker - a very noisy woodpecker. We looked up and there it was, a very young bird - Leslie said "Lisa is here to tell you everything is alright".
So life goes on. Andrew is doing fine. They are moving at the end of May. They finally sold their money pit and will have a house without a leaky roof. He is really busy. He has the story written for the video game he was writing and is now in the studio with the actors. He even got to say a couple of things. He is still doing the screenplay for Mexico and today, he is a a young writer's conference doing presentations about writing. I know Lisa is proud of him!
Lisa: You know how much I love and miss you. I hope you are having a great party with Erik and Greg, Robert and all the FMO kids who are with you. I miss you always and love you forever, Mum

We are all doing the best we can. I miss my Jacob a lot lately, seems like when I can\'t get out, my brooding is worse. Zac says I cry in my sleep and he cannot comfort me.
It\'s terrible that Lisa is your only child, so I really feel for you Marlene. To age without kids is hard, to not have our grandchildren near us, is very hard, too. I am missing the relationships I wish I had. Hope I can live long enough to see my youngest child\'s children. Had him at 42, so I don\'t know.
Wish I could hug you Marlene, you always help me when I\'m down. Today I went to synagogue, but couldn\'t pay attention. Couldn\'t read. Just was so out of sorts. Jacob was my religious child, we held that together. love you, Abby
Saying a special prayer for Lorraine!! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LISA!!! I know you are missing her like crazy!! It is AWESOME that she has been visiting you right regularly here! That is soo sweet of her!! I am also saying prayers for you, as I know how hard it is for us to spend our child\'s birthday here on earth, But you are right!! She is having an AMAZING birthday party right now as we speak!! Lots of Love and Prayers for you today!! Happy Birthday Again Lisa!!
Love Debi
So grateful that I didn\'t miss Lisa\'s birthday as I didn\'t know. Knowing how these days feel for me and surrounding you with lots of love.
How wonderful is that for these birds to make their presence known. Our children will always find a way and you told me when I was in Hawaii that if I heard a noisy bird it was Lisa saying hello and there were many times that I\'m sure she did! :)
Prayers continue for Lorraine and I remember you telling us when you made her birthday cake not too long ago. Wish I could remember what you made her yet it sounded delicious! :)
Gentle care dear Marlene on this very special day of Lisa\'s birth.
Much love,
XO Joanie

41st birthday for Lisa! I wish her such love, knowing how much she is thought of on this, her special day. And also my hugs for you mom. I know how much she is missed. It\'s so special that her presence is felt by you and I hope she continues to show she\'s with you always. Hugs & love, Debbie
They sure do find a way to let us know they are still around. Feathers, butterflies, birds, even an annoying car alarm for me! I love their little \"hellos\" Happy Birthday Lisa!
A day late,,,but,,,, happy 41st birthday Lisa!!!!

I love hearing about Andrew\'s career it sounds so interesting.
Also those those winks from our kids!
Maybe whatever it is that Lorraine has won\'t be as bad as first suspected. She is in my prayers every day.
Hugs, Terry
I\'m glad that Lisa\'s birthday was manageable, Marlene...I like how you made the conscious choice to not despair and made that effort! You\'re a brave woman. And I totally get the bird phenomena...I get birdie visits, too! Peace and Love, Donna
