Lisa is not forgotten

I got a call last evening from a friend of Lisa's.  Lisa met Harvey at Manon's wedding; Lisa didn't hold it against her LOL.  Lisa had a way of seeing the best in people.  Manon said that she and Susan (the bridesmaid who walked out after the ceremony and missed being in the photos) were helping with a fundraising for a friend who needs to go to the United States for surgery that is not covered here.  It is horrendously expensive.  Manon called to ask if I was okay if she and Susan made a gift basket in memory of Lisa, to raffle off at the fundraiser.  I was so touched.  She called tonight to ask if I I had any ideas of things to include - things Lisa liked.  The basket will be worth about $100!  They have gotten a gift certificate for Lisa's favourite restaurant, candles that say "Live, laugh love", socks (she bought everybody she knew fuzzy socks at Christmas), spa type products and they are going to get Lisa's chocolates - hedgehogs from Purdy's (my suggestion).
They said it is the sort of thing Lisa would do.  And she would.
Manon and I had a long talk. Apparently she and Lisa  'paid it forward' long before it was trendy.  They would laugh - hoping the next customer wasn't buying for a huge family!  Lisa never told me that they did it.  Neither of them had much money at the time.
Both Andrew and Lisa were born with a spirit of giving.  I remember when Andrew was looking for comic artists, he got an email from an guy in the Philippines.  He found out how poor he was - Andrew wired him $100.  I am embarrassed to say that I was a bit peeved because he couldn't afford it.  But in all honesty, he really did have it all, in comparison.
It has been 6 years and I am still learning things about my phenomenal, caring, funny, and sometimes exasperating daughter.
Lisa:  Your loopy friends are  so generous and love you so much.  You saw things in people others didn't, and gave them unconditional love.  I was so blessed to have you for my daughter.  I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy
