Lipitor
I felt really rotten all day yesterday ... couldn't sleep at all that night .... insomnia, muscle pain. I gave up on sleeping at 5:00 am. I finally was able to take a 2 hour nap between 8 and 10 in the morning. I'm not at all sleepy right now, and it's past midnight. I've been melt-down exhausted all day today ..... shaky, trembling. Didn't do anything all day except take a shower. I went to church tonight, but my husband had to drive. I just wore comfy drawstring capris and a t-shirt and sat in church like a wilted plant. My hands and feet have turned kind of a blueish yellow and they feel a little numb. I feel like I've been cutting, spiking, and housing tobacco all day while battling a bad case of the flu. I didn't even feel like sitting on the porch to watch the sunset and the fireflies come out. I'm having a little trouble typing. Apparently, my keypad has a mind of it's own tonight.
Oh, the wonderful initial effects of Lipitor! According to what the doctor told me, it should wear off in a couple of weeks (Really! A couple of weeks!!!), as my body adapts to the medicine. If it doesn't, I'm supposed to call him. I feel a little better now than I did earlier, but I'm a couple of hours over due for another dose. I think I'm going to read about the side effects again before I swallow another pill. If two doses of the stuff does this to me, I'm not so sure I want to take another pill! We may have to talk about cutting down on the dosage. I'm afraid to take sleeping pills with the Lipitor.
The good new is Tim did wash the dishes for me. If I had tried, there probably would have been a lot of broken glass on the floor and in the sink.
I hope my DS friends had a a better day than I did.

I was put on Lipitor some years back and I couldn\'t handle it, made me really sick too.So sorry you ended up so wiped out, not good.I have to address my own problem with high cholesterol and I want to try Betaglucare.Check it out and see what you think, ,apparently all natural, no side effects and works really well in lowering cholesterol.I will try to get hold of some as soon as I get a chance. Also Liptor can cause liver damage, according to my doctor. So sorry you couldn\'t sleep, I just hate that when it happens to me.Hope you feel better again soon and have long deeeep sleeps and beautiful dreams. Xo
How awful. I\'d check out what Aussedi wrote about Betaglucare and even online about other possible ways to manage your problem. Drugs are not for everyone no matter what your doctor tells you. Most doctors are not trained in the use of other methods to manage health conditions. I have a friend who has gotten muscle problems from taking statins, serious irreversable muscle problems.
I hope you feel better and make a choice that is right for you.
.
The Statin Drugs (Lipitor being one) are KNOWN for their hideous side effects. I\'m not being a Debbie downer here, it\'s just a fact! My mother AND my father AND my husband failed with that drug. It made all three of them sick. They switched Bobby to Zetia. It\'s a cholesterol lowering drug that is NOT a statin. It works just fine for him.
Please let the doctor know about how bad it is, my friend! Once you have a bad side effect to a drug, it\'s really rather irresponsible of a doctor to suggest you continue using it. Not surprised though.....doctors aren\'t what they used to be. That\'s why we have friends. Friends will be honest with us, even if it is a bit scary sometimes.
Please tell the doctor!! Love, me...mother hen!
............i hope you can get your docs attention about the side effects you\'re experiencing, that does not sound good hon.......we loves you and i hope they can give you something that doesn\'t make you feel so rough.........
the body tells us a lot of info............soft hugs, prayers for your care - hope you are able to get some rest........wonder if this med is also revving your engine somehow and that\'s why you can\'t sleep............??? let us know what\'s up........sorry you had such a lousy day sweet friend...........wish i could make it a little better for you.............just be as quiet as you can and lean in to it all.........chores will wait. others can help.........xoxoxo
Nancy, That sounds terrible! My husband did fine on Lipitor. but it sounds like it\'s not for everyone. Your doctor should be able to find something else for you that doesn\'t cause those kinds of side effects. You should not have to suffer like that! Thank you again for your awesome KY analogy - cutting, spiking and housing tobacco all day! I guess I\'d say something in Chicagoese like: I was so sick I felt like I was stuck in rush hour traffic, on a Friday in July, during road construction on the Kennedy expressway. Now, that\'s feeling sick!
