Good Morning Everyone,
Here is something I would like to share that I came across this morning.
When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friends who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares. Henry Nouwen

AMEN SISTER!!
Rhonda, you read my heart today with your journal entry and thank you for being my friend THAT CARES. I LOVE YOU, I LOVE JOSH!! Lynette
Yes, yes...thank you for reminding us...love and hugs...Karen
so true
Thank you for this. My son is battling his relapse in drugs and I am trying to remember that I cannot give advice, solutions or cures. I can only be here for him while he makes his life decisions. This may be about friends, but I am my son\'s friend as well as mother and I need to remember this. Hugs, Belinda
Such true words. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Kim
So much right now I want to change.... The reality is all I can really do is sit, be quiet, and occasionally dance with her. Will it have been enough? My spirit tells me yes, my broken heart tells me no.
I adore Nouwen and used this quote as part of my status for quite some time. Thank you for his gentle words and the reminder that our gift of presence is enough and is all that truly matters. Such a healing moment to read this again and I thank you. Love, Joanie
