Yes, I just happen to have a small glass of wine here and I will toast with you to better days. Golden Years...yeah I wonder where that phrase came from, growing old is hard physically and emotionally. I believe that losing a child takes it\'s toll on the body physically as well as emotionally. I know I have aged years in the 11 months since I lost Jason. Sending love to you Shirley and wishes for wonderful dreams of your Denise. Terry
Yes, to the better days we focus and hope.
Gentle ((hugs))

My father used to say, with a twinkle in his voice, \"don\'t bother getting old\" ~ but he meant it. Suffered for decades with debilitating Parkinson\'s that finally took his life at age 91. I think the term \"Golden Years\" is meant to make those of us who have made it thus far feel better, like this is somehow the best time yet! After all, some say, \"look at the alternative.\" We have seen the alternative in our beloved children and wonder why we\'re left standing while they\'re gone.
So sorry you\'re in such physical and psychic pain.
Sending lots of love and big gentle hugs of comfort ~ Debbie
Thank you all I needed that,i feel i am losing my battle, love to all, shirley
I think every family has some dysfunction. There\'s a cute poem about the golden years. I don\'t remember it but the last sentence says the Golden Years can kiss my a#$...lol. Hang in there. Love to you. Robin
I had an elderly friend once say to me, \"getting old isn\'t for sissy\'s!\" He had survived two wars, cancer, the death of two wives, three children, could not walk, and was living out the remainder of his days in a nursing home. Yet, he still found a way to bring joy to people around him. He was a very special man.
Getting older brings many pains - physical, emotional and spiritual - the challenge and invitation is to discover the life that is in the midst of that pain - and no matter how alone we may feel - we are never truly alone. Our feelings do not give us the full picture, only a piece, and sometimes a distorted piece at that.
You are loved Shirley, you are a blessing and you are a gift of grace. Sending you lots of love and hugs.
My Grandmother used to say dont get old it sucks! Well here we are getting older, with lots of achs & pains, Hope they dont bother us tomarrow like they did today. I do agree getting old is not for sissy\'s !
